This week we will look at the gift of prophecy. The word prophecy in Greek is (propheteian), which means “to speak for or before.” Many think prophecy as a foretelling of events which will happen in the future.
The primary meaning in Paul’s writing, however, is simply to declare messages which come from the mind and heart of God. These “words from the Lord” usually have more to do with present situations than future events.
