Lent Course - Not a Tame Lion
This course, which starts during the week beginning 19 February for 5 weeks, uses film clips and a study book to bring ideas from C.S Lewis's writing to a wider contemporary audience. In doing so it looks at issues of suffering, God's absence, the gift of the present moment, as well as a few ideas less well explored in present day Christianity: heaven, judgement and the force of evil. The details will be circulated once finalised, but do let us know if you could be interested!
The second of the two films referred to in this series will be shown this Sunday afternoon (4 February) at 3.30pm (this film is Cert U - not a 15 as suggested last week). Feel free to bring your own popcorn! Booking not required, but it would be helpful if you could let the office know if you are planning to come.
Annual Review of 2023
We are currently putting together our Annual Review booklet to celebrate God's goodness to us throughout 2023 at GBC.  We would love to include some contributions from individuals.  Could you write a couple of sentences about being part of GBC - whether that is as part of a congregation (whether you have been here for ages or are new to GBC recently), a Toolbox course or event, a Together event you have enjoyed, The Mix event in September - or something else!  Ruth would love to hear from you - as soon as possible please.  For those who haven't seen previous annual reviews and would like an idea of what we are looking for, they are here. Thank you.

Please put the date in your diary and come and join us at The Beacon Centre, Ermine Street, Little Stukeley, PE28 4BE.  There is a wide variety of tasks still to do - we can find something to suit all abilities!  If you cannot make this date, but would like to help, please contact John and Stephanie Brown on stileway@hotmail.co.uk.
Do you want to serve God and tell children about Jesus?
GenR8 has been working alongside churches and primary schools since 2001. GenR8 volunteer teams reach over 40,000 primary school aged children every term with fun assembly presentations and other activities that enable children to engage with the Christian faith.
Opportunities to volunteer include:
  • Joining an assembly presentation team
  • Helping deliver Inspire Prayer Spaces in schools
  • Helping out at the annual Xcellr8 weekend for 8–11-year-olds
  • Visiting schools with Cool Choices - Year 6 student workshops
All you need is a faith, some spare time, and a willingness to serve. What you will gain is friendship, support, fun, and so much more! For more information, go to their website.
