With all the cold weather we've been having, I'm happy to share two perfect recipes for your winter dinner table: the best beef stew and thick-cut pork chops.

I'm also excited to let you know about The Modern Pioneer Cookbook Curriculum Lesson Experience, a new article series to guide you through the lesson plans in the cookbook curriculum. (This free curriculum teaches traditional food recipes and kitchen techniques to students in grades K-12 and works in conjunction with my bestselling book, The Modern Pioneer Cookbook.)

Jamie O'Hara worked with me to create the cookbook curriculum, and starting with Chapter 1, Jamie documents her family's experiences working on lesson plans from the cookbook curriculum. Her insightful articles draw from her extensive experience as a homeschooling mom, curriculum writer, and former classroom teacher. You'll love reading about her children's traditional foods journey!

Lastly, if you would like more content from me in addition to my YouTube videos, cookbook, newsletters, and social media, I've gathered up the places on the Web where I've been interviewed in podcasts and have written for print and online magazines. You'll even find links to my TV appearances, too!

Thank you for Being a Sweet Friend
|
|
I had hoped to have released a new video for you today, but instead, I'll launch my kickoff video for 2024 next week. Thank you for all your patience with me this month as my family and I work through all that is involved when a parent returns to their eternal home. Of course, there is the grieving process that goes along with missing my sweet mom, Gloria, but then there are all the logistics of settling affairs.
On top of all of this, our sweet son Ben had to have a medical procedure. All went well, and that is behind him now, as he is on the road to healing.
The good news is that I have an exciting Mary's Nest 2024 Channel Update video coming up for you. It's chock-full of all the exciting things we will be doing together this year. It will be our best year ever with lots of traditional nutrient-dense recipes and many real old-world favorites, all focused on their proper preparation to ensure maximum nutrient absorption so we can be our best selves and as healthy as we can be! So stay tuned. 🤗

And on that note, I want to share one of the activities I've been doing in my traditional foods kitchen. I recently was sent a new book titled The Nourishing Asian Kitchen. It's full of many delicious recipes I am looking forward to trying.
Yesterday, I visited our local grocery store for a few ingredients that I normally don't stock in my Traditional Foods Four Corners Pantry, including Chinese Five Spice Powder. (As I learn more, I look forward to creating my own homemade version!)
(Note: To help inventory your supplies and keep a well-stocked Four Corners Pantry, be sure to download my two free checklist files.)
My first foray into making one of these recipes was to create a vermicelli noodle bowl. It combined vermicelli rice noodles, marinated grilled chicken, and lots of fresh veggies, all topped with a slightly sweetened fish sauce. What a refreshing dish! I'll keep you posted on my future recipes with pictures on my Mary's Nest YouTube Community Page.
Whether you're creating beef stew, thick-cut pork chops, or a vermicelli noodle bowl, I hope you're staying warm and are enjoying tasty meals in your cozy kitchen. 😊
