A message from Daniel,
Hello everyone
On Sunday morning I shared about 'what is church' at GBC. One key aspect of church life is serving.
At Godmanchester Baptist Church there are many different opportunities to get involved. We have a lot of groups and activities that run regularly throughout the week as well as our different congregations. We are so thankful for the many people who already serve in so many different ways to enable us to do mission and ministry. As you can imagine there are often vacancies. If you ever think that you would like to get involved in something then we encourage you to always let us know.
We thought it would be good to give a flavour of some of the things that you can get involved with.

Maintenance
On both sites, at East Chadley Lane Godmanchester and at The Beacon Centre, Little Stukeley.
Simple DIY type jobs: fitting door handles, re-fitting signs etc
Gardening, tidying grounds etc
We want to create a group of possible helpers and to be able to send them details of any jobs that need doing and then whoever is available can come and do it!

Hospitality
To ensure our services, groups and activities run well there are many people who serve to ensure that everyone who comes has a good experience. We have regular events on different days through the week and also some one-off events. Tasks might include:
- welcoming
- refreshments
- car parking
- duty steward

|
Children's and Youth Ministry
Throughout church life we have activities and groups for children and young people. Due to the nature of these roles people need to complete our safeguarding application process to be involved in these areas.
- Sunday morning: teaching for all ages up to 14 years old
- Wednesday morning: baby and toddler group
- Friday evening: youth club for young people
- Various: at other times we have one off activities for children and young people

Technology
- IT support for the office and building in general
- Audio visual recording of celebrations and at other times
- Graphics – helping create graphics for us to use on our website and in our publicity
|

Together we are able to put into practice the words of 1 Peter 4.10 'Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.'
