Transformational Conflict

Sunday, January 21st
10:30am
Join us in person or Zoom!

All churches have conflict. This can be interpersonal and institutional. It is critical that we each commit ourselves to the work of acknowledging and interacting conflict, and this can make us stronger and healthier. Let's explore how conflict can transform us.

Creative Circle Play Day

All Northlake crafters are invited to join Creative Circle for a Play Day on Saturday Jan. 20th from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm in the Sanctuary.

We'll be hanging the religious symbols show on Saturday. If you have a piece at home that you would like to have included, please bring it before lunch on Saturday. Bring lunch and enjoy a day of crafting!

Reminder, there is added security on the campus because of the increase of threats to Jewish communities. It will help if you wave at any security personnel you see and let them know that you are attending the Creative Circle in the Main Sanctuary. There will be lanyards for everyone when you arrive. Kol Ami is posting a person at each entrance, so enter only through the upstairs doors, and explain that you are here for the Creative Circle Play Day. If you have any concerns, give Robin a call and she can meet you at your car or at the front door.

This is a small way for us to stay in alignment with and support our extended community to be safe :)

EIM: Eastside Introductory Meditation Class Series

Wednesday, Jan. 24th
7-9pm

Chapel

For six Wednesday evenings we will develop the path of mindfulness meditation, also called insight meditation, and how it can benefit you. As described in the link, the series will include teachings, periods of meditation, plenty of discussion, and follow-ups at home. Here's the link, from Seattle Insight Meditation Society:

Transforming Conflict

The Healthy Congregation Team will host a Town Hall meeting on Sunday, January 21 11:45 a.m. in Adam's Hall to talk about how we manage conflict within our community, and to introduce everyone to the Health Cong. Team.  Based on the book Transforming Conflict by Terasa Cooley, we will present new ideas about how we can enter conflict in ways that create more healthy communication.

Women’s Group

Saturday Matinees – 2:00 p.m.

Northlake Women will continue this year to enjoy outings to Seattle Center to attend performances at the Seattle Rep. We travel to and from Seattle as a group by bus 255, the light rail, and the monorail. We recommend you buy an ORCA pass. We leave Kirkland early enough to have lunch at the Food Circus and/or a beverage before the play begins. To RSVP and more information contact Melissa Ahern ahern.melissa1949@gmail.com.

Ticket information - You may buy tickets for the whole season or for separate events. You can pick whatever seat location and price suits you. There are some reduced-price tickets that may apply. Consult Seattle Rep website for seating maps and descriptions about each play. You may find it much easier to get tickets by telephone rather than on the Rep website.
