Scouts SA Now Accepts Sports Vouchers!

What is the Sports Vouchers Program? It is an SA Government initiative that helps families cover the costs of their children's sports and recreation activities. All children living in South Australia, from Reception to Year 9, are eligible for a Sports Voucher each calendar year.

The Sports Voucher Program contributes $100 to the Branch Membership Fee (in the Reynella Scout Group the Branch Membership Fee is included in the Term Fee payment).

Scouts SA hopes that the Sports Voucher Program makes Scouting more accessible and affordable for everyone.  Apply today via the online portal!

When the use of your Sports Voucher is approved your will be notified by Scouts SA Head Office via email. The Scout Group will then split the discount throughout your remaining term fee invoices for the calendar year.

Sun Smart Scouting

The Reynella Scout Group supports sun smart behaviours. We request that all member bring a broad brim hat along to Scouting activities. (This includes activities at the Hall as we often visit the local park.) Caps do not provide adequate sun protection and are discouraged.

We also encourage members to bring a drink bottle to weekly meetings.
Term One Fees

Term One Fee invoices were issued Saturday 3rd February to all registered members. Invoices are sent via email through our accounting system (ReckonOne). If you have not received your invoice please check your junk mail folder.

We believe in the value of Scouting for everyone. If you are experiencing financial hardship we encourage you to reach out. If you initiate discussions we can work together find options to support your family’s continued involvement in Scouting. The Scout Group supports extensions on payment terms and payment plans. Scouts SA also has financial support available.
Term Fee Consultation

The Reynella Scout Group Term Fee covers the ongoing facilitation of Scouting within the Scout Group. We believe the Reynella Scout Group offers value for money.

In 2023 the Reynella Scout Group Term Fee was $105. However, to keep up with our increasing expenses, our term fees must increase in 2024.

We will consult with families on this increase; with member families asked to vote on a preferred fee structure moving forward. A new Term Fee will be set (from Term Two onwards) as a result of this consultation.

OPTION ONE: Increased Term Fees
Term Fee: $115
Annual Fundraising Levy: $40

In this fee structure, families would be asked to assist at a fundraising activity annually or pay the Fundraising Levy.

OPTION TWO: Increased Fundraising / Group Support
Term Fee: $105
Term Assistance Levy: $40

In this fee structure, families would be asked to assist the Scout Group in some way each term or pay the assistance levy.

More information is available in the attachments below.

Facility Improvements

Have you seen works underway at the Reynella Scout Hall recently? In the last few months of 2023 the Scout Group delivered a number of improvement projects, namely:
  • Installed a reverse cycle air-conditioner (thanks to the City of Onkaparinga Community Land and Facility Improvement Grants)
  • Cemented the driveway (thanks to the Federal Government Stronger Communities Grants)
  • Installed fencing around the Hall (thanks to the Federal Government Stronger Communities Grants)
  • Installed fencing across the carpark (thanks to the Federal Government Stronger Communities Grants)
We know our members will enjoy and benefit from these improvements into the future. Thank you to the Local and Federal Government bodies who supported these projects.

Part of our Group Plan is to "provide quality resources and facilities required to support members to participate in the Scouts Australia Youth Program". These facility improvements link directly back to this.
