Ginny Gentles, director of IWF’s Education Freedom Center, testified before the House Oversight Committee, Subcommittee on Healthcare and Financial Services, in a hearing titled “America’s Report Card: Oversight of K-12 Public Education.” She emphasized the pernicious influence of teachers unions, the nation’s alarming learning loss and chronic absenteeism crisis, and the K-12 education system’s irresponsible use of $190 billion in federal emergency education (ESSER) funds. She also discussed the good news: School choice improves educational opportunities and outcomes for students and educators.
