BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated The Zone of Interest opens to critical acclaim

The Zone of Interest is the third of Jonathan Glazer’s films for which the Premier team has handled publicity.   After covering international press in Cannes, Premier were assigned by A24 to the February 2 UK release campaign.   Glazer, actors Sandra Hüller and Christian Friedel and many of the heads of department contributed towards a slew of publicity, including major breaks in The Observer, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, The Sun, BBC News Online, and The Independent (who called Glazer “Britain’s greatest living filmmaker”) , and broadcast coverage on ITV News and Radio 4 Front Row.  An array of five-star reviews dropped last week around the opening.

This all led to a strong opening weekend, with the highest screen average in the top 30 films at the UK Box Office. Following its nine BAFTA and five Oscar nominations (where it could make history as the first British film to win the International Feature category), The Zone of Interest won Film of the Year, Best Director and the Technical Achievement Award for Johnnie Burn (Sound Designer) and Mica Levi (Composer) at last week’s London Film Critics’ Circle awards. Ahead of the film’s opening, Jonathan Glazer did a sold-out career talk at BFI Southbank, where moderator Alfonso Cuarón called The Zone of Interest “the most important film in the last century”.

The Leeds International Piano Competition returns in 2024

Premier announced the return of The Leeds International Piano Competition in 2024. The prestigious triennial event is regarded as among the most influential of all music competitions. It has selected 65 of the world’s finest young pianists (aged 20-29) from 18 countries from a record-breaking pool of applications for the First Rounds in April. They will now compete for the chance to go through the Finals in Leeds and Bradford in September and the opportunity to win one of the celebrated prizes in the music world.

Already recognised as a trailblazer among music competitions the Competition has introduced blind selection and unconscious bias training for members of the jury as pioneering steps towards addressing a prevailing issue of male dominance in the piano world. It has also introduced the new Alexandra Dariescu Award for an outstanding performance of music by a woman composer and increased the amount of music by female composers in the Competition repertoire. News of these innovative steps was widely covered in mainstream and specialist media.
