Digital Manufacturing Accelerator
The DMA is an initial 10-year partnership between the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) and the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to invest in and develop UK manufacturers and their workforce to successfully build global competitiveness.

Smart Manufacturing Data Hub
The Smart Manufacturing Data Hub (SMDH) supports small and medium-sized manufacturers to become more competitive by harnessing the power of data.

Digital solutions, expert guidance and funding are available to companies through the hub, allowing them to explore and evaluate their processes, make operational savings, de-risk investments and become more digital savvy.

Made in the North West Awards 2024
Applications are open for Insider’s premier manufacturing event - the Made in the North West Awards 2024.

These awards acknowledge and celebrate the great manufacturers in our region.

The event also recognises traditional manufacturers, as well as digital engineering, apprenticeship training schemes and sectors like food and automotive.

LYVA Labs have developed and manage on online network for the sector. Following will give you rich access to collaborators, events and expertise in the advanced manufacturing sector.

Funding & Support
Flexible Growth Fund
The Flexible Growth Fund provides fast access to finance, removing bottlenecks to unlock existing investment opportunities and leverage private sector investment in job-creating and job-sustaining projects. Loan repayments will be recycled back into the fund, providing new loan capital. This ‘evergreen’ model of fund recycling is a creative method of maximising fund values.

The fund is open to any business in the City Region which is undertaking an expansion project which creates or secures jobs.

Growth Catalyst
Growth Catalyst is a seven-month leadership development programme, designed specifically for owners and senior managers of SMEs in the Liverpool City Region, to help the business grow.  The programme is uniquely designed to provide both personal and business support. 

The programme includes:
  •  A 2 day overnight leadership residential. (Thornton Hall Hotel)
  • 6 hours of coaching.
  • 7 masterclasses.
  • 4 x three hour Action Learning set meetings.
  • A Business Shadowing Exercise.
  • 6 "Essential Skills" online workshops.
  • A peer network of likeminded owner/managers
There is no charge for attending the programme, however there is an application and selection process to ensure that places are awarded to businesses that have plans for growth and are committed to meaningful change. Applications close Friday 8th March 2024.

Horizon Europe is an opportunity for all types of UK organisations (including businesses and academia) to get funding for research and innovation. For UK businesses this is an opportunity to collaborate with partners with the right expertise to expand markets and accelerate innovation across Europe and internationally.

Industry Impact Fund
The Industry Impact Fund (I2F) is designed to support UK industry through access to STFC facilities and scientific expertise. STFC operates the UK national facilities offering X-rays, neutrons and lasers alongside high performance computing (modelling, artificial intelligence, machine learning) enabling the private sector to utilise the expertise and specialist technology to generate industrial and societal impact.

Innovate UK Smart Grants January 2024
UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £25 million for game-changing and commercially viable R&D innovations that can significantly impact the UK economy. This funding is from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation.

Innovate UK is offering travel support for companies to attend consortia building events in Europe. The travel awards are an excellent mechanism for supporting companies who want to expand their networks across Europe and make an impact in collaborative international research and development projects.
