FEBRUARY ART NIGHT
Escape the chill and join us for a delightful evening of birdhouse painting! Grab a friend and immerse yourself in creativity at our February Art Night, taking place on February 22nd at 7 pm. We'll provide all the supplies you need for a fun-filled experience. Let your imagination soar as you transform a simple birdhouse into a masterpiece!
THE WIZARD BEHIND OZ - MARCH 28 AT 6:30 PM  
If you’re from Kansas, you’ve surely encountered plenty of Wizard of Oz jokes and quips. Where’s Dorothy? You’re not in Kansas anymore! I’m melting! But what you may not know is the fascinating story behind L. Frank Baum’s classic “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” This talk explores the unique appeal of this first truly American fairy tale, and its legacy on our culture from speech, to music, to media. This presentation pulls back the curtain on Baum’s crowning achievement.  Stevens County Library in Hugoton, KS will host “The Wizard Behind Oz,” a presentation and discussion by Chris Glasgow on March 28th at 6:30 pm at the Stevens County Library, 500 S. Monroe St, Hugoton, KS.  Members of the community are invited to attend the free program. Contact the Stevens County Library at 620-544-2301 for more information. MAGAZINE SALE!
Stop by the library and pick up some magazines for $0.10 each!  There are a variety of magazines and they are very useful for reading, arts, etc.  The magazines will be for sale for a couple of weeks, so hurry in now to select your favorite titles.
ENERGY ASSISTANCE HELP AT THE LIBRARY
Sign up is open for energy assistance from January 2nd to March 29th for the LIEAP Program.  If you need help applying online, call the library at 620-544-2301 to schedule time with a librarian for help.  Paper applications are also available at the front desk!

FAMILY TREE WORKSHOP

MAH JONGG CLASS
Discover the joy of Mah-Jongg with our friendly group that gathers every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm! Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, all are welcome to join our sessions filled with fun and strategy. We're thrilled to invite new players to the table and are dedicated to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. If you're eager to learn, our experienced players are excited to teach you the ropes. HOME DELIVERY
If you find yourself under the weather and unable to make it to the library, worry not! Our library is here to make your reading experience as convenient as possible. Take advantage of our curbside pickup service, where we'll gladly bring your selected items right to your vehicle. For our patrons within the city of Hugoton, we go the extra mile by offering home delivery services, ensuring you can enjoy your favorite books from the comfort of your own space. Residents at Pioneer Manor can also benefit from our weekly deliveries scheduled every Friday afternoon. To schedule a curbside pickup or home delivery, simply call us at (620)544-2301. Let the library come to you, making your reading enjoyment a priority.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is designed to encourage early childhood reading habits. The program encourages parents and caregivers to read 1,000 books to their children before they enter kindergarten. It aims to promote bonding between caregivers and children through reading while also fostering early literacy skills and a love for books. Participants track their progress through reading logs provided by the library.


STORYWALK
Win prizes for your family by visiting our Storywalk at the Stevens County Gas & Historical Museum walking trail! Start at the old school building and head north, reading the story as you walk around the trail. Every time you visit, use your smartphone to fill out the participation survey and you could win a prize! You can also send photos of your family enjoying the Storywalk to
