I hope you fared well during last week's heavy rains and winds. My family was without power for about 24 hours and we were fortunate to be invited to our neighbor's home for warmth, electricity and good company. Strong neighborhood bonds are so important, for emergencies but even more for day-to-day human connections.
Tuesday's (2/13) City Council meeting covers a wide array of topics ranging from Library Commissioner appointments, aquatics fee updates, the consideration of rezoning of two parcels (at 512 Durham Street and 687 Bay Road, both in District 2), salary schedule amendments, informational items on the Coleman-Ringwood Transportation Study, community events and more. The full agenda can be found below.
Agenda Item N4, an informational item titled, "Annual City Council Goal Setting Workshop March 2nd" contains two important pieces of information. One is a "Save the Date" of Saturday, March 2nd from 10am to 2pm for Council's annual Goal Setting Workshop. This event is a forum for the Council to discuss current City priorities and to make adjustments as needed. Members of the public are invited to attend in-person (in Council Chambers) or online via Zoom. The second important piece of information is that an online feedback form is now live on the City's website to allow members of the public to provide input on City priorities in advance of the meeting. The deadline to use this online feedback form is Friday, February 23rd, a little more than one week prior to the workshop.
Happy Lunar New Year, Happy Super Bowl and a happy week to all of you.
