Pope Francis’ February IntentionFor the terminally ill. We pray that those with a terminal illness, and their families, receive the necessary physical and spiritual care and accompaniment. |
Weekly Bible Reflection“After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God..” - Mark 1:35, 38
Have you ever thought about how difficult it must have been for Jesus to go to Galilee, knowing that John had just been arrested for teaching the same message that He was proclaiming. It took great love and trust for Jesus to do what the Father had sent Him here on earth to do. In the same way, living a stewardship lifestyle takes great love and trust from us. We must be willing to surrender completely to God, trusting that He will always give us all that we need to fulfill His plan for us.

| PARISH PHOTO DIRECTORY UPDATEWe have had a number people inquire as to the status of our parish photo directory. IPC Canada Photo Services (in Ontario), sent us a draft of the directory in late January. The directory was proofed for errors/omissions and sent back to the company to be published. They have just informed us that it will likely be another six weeks before we receive our directories. Please be assured that as soon as they arrive, we will contact you. Thank you for your patience! |

| STEWARDSHIP AT ST. MARY’SThere are many ways to use the gifts God has given us to contribute to the mission of the Church. At St. Mary’s Parish there are many ministries to be active in, including: Lectors, Bible studies, Catholic Women’s League, Knights of Columbus, or Migrant Ministry, for example. Stewardship can also be as simple as creating a welcoming environment by greeting a parishioner, or tidying the pew and lifting the kneeler before you leave the church. Let us find joy in participating in the life of the Church, in using our gifts given to us from God, or in developing our gifts further. May God bless you!

YEAR OF THE DRAGONLast week, the Grade 7’s did a Chinese New Year craft with one of our Grade 1/2 buddy classes. Then this past Friday, we celebrated Lunar New Year with our other Grade 1/2 buddy class. We taught them about the history of the celebration, did some crafts, gave them lucky red envelopes, and enjoyed a Dragon Parade around the school. The Grade 7’s enjoyed a Chinese food lunch and enjoyed some fun festivities in the classroom. We love sharing our learning with our buddies. Gung hay fat choy! |
