Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024

Jeopardy featured a question about Wake Forest on Jan. 29

Academics

  • For undergraduates
    • Undergraduate major/minor declaration: Feb. 5-9 is the Mass Declaration period for undergraduate students who have earned 40+ credit hours. Students eligible to declare should follow instructions that will be sent to them in their WFU email before Feb. 5.
    • The last day to drop first part-of-term classes and the last day to change from a letter grade to pass/fail in an approved first part-of-term class is Friday, Feb. 2.
  • Apply for the Richter Scholarship by Feb. 12. The Richter program provides funding for globally oriented independent research. Richter Scholars can follow in the footsteps of artists or statesmen; study architecture, ruins, landscapes, or climates; experience cultures, artistry, innovations, or disparities; or conduct experiments, analyses, interviews, or investigations. Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to pursue enriching and engaging projects that can be life-changing.

Pedestrian safety reminder

From 7 p.m. until midnight, the On-Call Demand Shuttle is available daily. If returning to campus after midnight, consider using rideshare services to avoid crossing University Parkway on foot. Students who do not feel safe traveling back to campus should contact University Police at 336-758-5911 or through the Wake Safe mobile app.

Campus Climate Survey incentive: early housing registration

  • We need at least 35% student participation in our survey, and we aren’t there yet. If you haven’t already, please take the survey.
  • A new incentive was just added for students who complete the survey: Two students will receive early housing registration, within their class, for Fall 2024 housing (i.e., if you are a sophomore, you will receive priority registration among sophomores). See more on our website.

University Activity Space (UAS) available for spring reservations

The University Activity Space (UAS) is now available to host your events for the Spring 2024 semester. The UAS is available free of charge to all chartered undergraduate student organizations and is a fantastic place to hold your next big event! Events are limited to Wake Forest students. Reserve the space by visiting DeaconSpace and selecting the venue listed on the “Multipurpose” template.
