Instructor Biography:
My art is impressionist and full of color.
Recently, I begin painting with a flat palette knife, doing an underpainting in acrylics using 3 or 4 colors. When paint is dry, I continue painting with acrylics or switch to oils, allowing some of the underpainting to peek through. When using wood cradle boards I apply muslin material using gesso to adhere it to panel.
I call this method abstracted realism. It marries the best of abstraction and realism.
I teach classes in oil, acrylics, pastel and palette knife and workshops at Shemer Art Center.
