Assumption Catholic School

The Assumption Catholic community, united in the Eucharist, provides a challenging academic education where living a Christ-centered life comes first.

Website

Dear Assumption Parents,

As we journey through another school year, we extend our deepest gratitude for the enduring traditions, the steadfast commitment to ensuring our students encounter the Eucharist, and the pride we take in our rich generational history. Our community has been abundantly blessed, and we express our gratitude, giving full honor to God and Mother Mary, who watch over our school with special care. With great enthusiasm, we look forward to the continued success of our #AssumptionStrong students.

Today, we are pleased to announce the opening of the re-enrollment window for the 2024-2025 school year. The administration, School Advisory Board Finance Sub-Committee, with Father Jason and the Parish Finance Council, has diligently worked to ensure our school's financial stability. While school tuition has remained consistent for the past two years at $8,572 per student, the challenges posed by inflation have led to an increased cost to educate of $10,444 per student for the upcoming school year. This will result in a 5% tuition increase, bringing the new tuition rate to $9,000 per student for the 2024-2025 school year. This equates to a 2.5% annual increase per year from 2022-2023 school year to the upcoming school year as the rate did not increase this past year.

Recognizing the potential financial impact, the committee has reviewed scholarship data, revealing that 91% of our students are currently receiving some form of the Step Up for Students Scholarship. With this information, it has been determined to remove the additional scholarships offered by Assumption Catholic School. This includes the Assumption, Our Lady of La Leche, and St. Augustine scholarships. If your family anticipates financial difficulties due to these changes, we encourage you to apply for Facts Grant & Aid. We will also be hosting a Step Up for Students Scholarship meeting on Tuesday, March 12th at 8:00 am in Kohls Hall. All those families not currently on this scholarship are highly encouraged to attend this informational session.

The online re-enrollment process and payment are due by February 16th. Upon successful completion, you will receive a confirmation email for each child. Online re-enrollment completed after February 16th will incur a $50 late fee per child. Families that do not re-enroll by the deadline may be forfeiting their place on the student roster as open enrollment for new students begins immediately following the re-enrollment deadline of February 16th.

We recognize that you have a choice in education and work to honor the decision you make when entrusting Assumption with the care of your child(ren). As you complete the re-enrollment process for your family, feel free to ask any questions.

Thank you and God bless,

Maryann Jimenez

This volunteer would earn their 20 volunteer hours and a grandparent can fill this role as well to earn for their grandchildren. If you are interested, please contact Sharon Fetrow at 904-302-2957.

Lunchroom Volunteers

Please use the below link to sign up to help out in our lunchroom. The Cafeteria has requested extra helping hands during lunch. Duties would include helping younger students opening items, sanitizing tables between classes, and sweeping the floors.  It's a treat to get to interact with students of all ages. If you're unable to volunteer the entire time, just note the times you're available in the comments. Contact Stacey Lewis at slewis@assumptionjax.org if you have questions or need information on completing your background check and Protecting God’s Children class.
