We also ran an online session for prospective Oxbridge applicants in Year 10, 11 and 12, which gave out general information about the application system and was attended by 173 students from 11 different partner schools, as well as an Oxbridge online super-curricular workshop for Year 12s, attended by 109 students from 13 different partner schools.
The Wellington College University Fair for Year 12s also attracted 143 students and parents from schools within the partnership and there is another Oxbridge session lined up for this term aimed at parents of Year 10/11//12 students.
Moving on to the rest of this term, on the morning of March 12 we will welcome a group of girls to Wellington for the WCSA's first Women in Construction workshop. Kindly being run by housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, this will include an introduction to the roles within the business/industry, female speakers from Taylor Wimpey and their backgrounds, a sustainability exercise and a building exercise with prizes. This follows on from a successful workshop they ran at our STEM day last Spring where students had to build a tower out of straws. We are also running three big events; a Year 9 STEM Day, Year 9 Humanities Day and Year 10 Skills Day. The STEM Day is now full but you can use this link to book a place on the Humanities Day and this link for the Skills Day (see dates below).
We will also run four more of this year’s 12 Outdoor Education Days between now and Easter with visits from Winston Churchill, Kings International, Easthampstead Park and Robert Mays schools. Fingers crossed for some sunny days.
