Fun for Fiddlers - New Website Resources
The Tune Index page has some new features! This page displays a list of all the tunes in all our sets, sorted in alphabetical order by tune name. You can also see the list of tunes sorted by tune type, or by the key signature. Hearing the tunes played by Cape Breton fiddlers is key to learning to play the tune yourself, now you can do that right on our website. Click the tune name in the list to get a listing of known recordings of the tune played by Cape Breton artists. Click the artist name in the list to listen to the tune (mp3) as played by that artist.  Click the album name to see what other tunes that artist plays in the same set. Wondering what other tunes go well with the tune you are learning? Click the tune name, then follow links to albums  containing that tune to see what tunes Cape Breton fiddlers play together.

OTHER EVENTS

Sessions, sessions, sessions - there are lots of Celtic sessions going on in the National Capital Area that include a nice mix of Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and French Canadian tunes. Check out our Google calendar below  for dates and locations.

Let us know about other Cape Breton music events so we can include them in our calendar of events! Send an email to cbsession@cbsession.com with details or a link to a website advertising the event. Events must be local to eastern Ontario and involve Cape Breton artists or Cape Breton music and/or dance in some capacity.

Open Jam Sessions: 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at locations as specified on the website. Sessions are led by Aylene, or sometimes other folks. This session is a mix of session and solo playing, let us know if you have something special to share with the group. Sheet music permitted. Generally a pretty fast pace.
