Almost mythical, except for those in-the-know, fans collect it and know that when you catch a bottle of Thomas at the right time, it delivers the most memorable Oregon Pinot noir.

One of the most collectible Pinot Noirs made in all of Oregon is from a producer you’ve never heard of: Thomas Winery. John Thomas has been making small amounts of wine from his 4 acre, dry-farmed vineyard since 1988. There are no wine critic reviews, and Cellar Tracker is scarce. It is truly an insiders wine, except by those of us that live here.
John does it all, from managing the vineyards to making and selling the wine. Nobody really knows how he does it all, but we are all very grateful that he does it all.
These wines have all been purchased on release and professionally stored within a short drive from the winery. The magnums are extremely rare and worth your consideration.
Many of the professional reviews are a bit dated at this point as there are not that many bottles around to begin with. Over the past year we have tasted bottles of Thomas in 750ml from 1999 - 2013 and all have been amazing so we have no problem recommending this new collection with full faith and optimism of your enjoyment. If you want to try a mature example of the pinnacle of American Pinot Noir you would be wise to try one of these.
