Men's Night

If so, on March 8 the Housing Department is welcoming Scott Flammand from First Nations Market Housing Fund. Scott will be available to meet with TteS members privately to discuss financial counselling.

Archery Nights

Join us for Archery Nights with The Kamloops Bowbenders Club at Moccasin Square Garden! The archery nights are open to all and participation is free for the residents of Tk̓emlúps, aged 5 and up. KIRS Survivors Meeting

The Le Estcwicwéy̓ Department is organizing a meeting on Friday, March 8 from 4:30pm - 7:30pm at Moccasin Square Garden. The purpose of the gathering is to engage with and listen to the voices of KIRS/TteS Survivors, providing them with a department update. The event is specifically for TteS Band Members and former band members who attended KIRS. Attendees can expect dinner, door prizes, and cultural/emotional support. Elkstwécw Workshop

Secwépemc Child & Family Secwepemc Child & Family Services presents a Chocolate Fondue Night elkstwécw workshop on Tuesday, March 12 starting at 5:30pm. Please note that participation is limited, and spots are filling up fast, so make sure to secure your spot early. This workshop is for TteS band members only. No Fuel at Petro

Thank you for choosing Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Petro-Canada for your fuel needs! We want to inform you that we will be upgrading our fuel dispensers to comply with industry standards starting at 6 am on Saturday, March 2. Unfortunately, fuel will not be available during this upgrade. We anticipate completing the upgrade and resuming normal operations on Tuesday, March 5. Your patience during this time is greatly valued and appreciated.

For fleet accounts requiring fuel, please ensure to top up on Friday, March 1. It's important to note that our convenience store will remain open during this upgrade, so you can still access other services. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to serving you with improved facilities soon.

ATEC Job Fair

Juanita Soles invites everyone to come out on March 6th and join Aboriginal Training and Employment Centre at our Job Fair in Kamloops. The special guest and MC will be KASP, Multi Award winning Hip Hop Artist & Motivational Speaker. He'll be rocking the mic and guiding everyone through the event!

On Pink Shirt Day (Wednesday, February 28), Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Chief and Council met with Tk̓emlúps Rural RCMP, strengthening ongoing community ties and advancing safety initiatives.

Secwépemc Chancellor Appointed at TRU

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) has appointed DeDe DeRose as its new chancellor, starting her term on March 1. DeRose, a strong advocate for Indigenous education in British Columbia, brings extensive experience and a history of supporting Indigenous student success. As a member of the Esk’etemc First Nation, she holds the Secwépemc name Tse7ekw te Spi7uw (Sunrise Golden Eagle). In her role, DeRose will oversee convocation ceremonies, participate in the university’s board of governors and senate, and continue promoting education and community development. She succeeds Nathan Mathew and will be formally installed in a ceremony later this spring.

Afterschool Program

TteS kids still have the opportunity to join the Full Circle Afterschool program! However, spots are filling up rapidly, so we encourage you to act quickly to ensure your child doesn't miss out on the exciting and enriching experiences that await them. Don't worry if all spots are taken, as we maintain a waitlist, and openings can arise at any moment. By adding your child to the waitlist, they'll have the chance to join the program as soon as a spot becomes available.

To secure a spot, please contact us at the Youth Centre via phone or email. If you prefer, you can drop by our location between 10 am and 5 pm – just give us a quick call beforehand to ensure that we're ready to assist you.

Youth Canoe Journey

West Kelowna RCMP Indigenous Policing Services is holding a Youth Canoe Journey on Okanagan Lake from August 26th to 30th, 2024. The goals of the event are to build better community relationships with the RCMP, encourage the recruitment of Indigenous people in the RCMP, and to provide education on the importance of water safety. The journey will start in Penticton and end in Vernon. The group will be camping in West Kelowna for the duration of the event. The event is for Indigenous Youth - aged 14 to 18 years of age. An adult chaperone will be required to attend with the youth. If you are interested in participating and would like further details please contact:

PAL Course

Get ready to take the first step towards your Canadian Firearms License (PAL)! This course is open to band members 18 years and older.
