Reminder: the last day to change from pass/fail to a letter grade in an approved first part-of-term class is Friday, Feb. 23.
If you have already declared but are now considering changing your major, minor or concentration, you must consult with your advisor(s) and submit any changes before February 26.

Renewing and building new: Reynolda Campus space planning update
One year ago, I named academic space renewal as one of my highest priorities and launched Wake Forest’s first University-wide space strategy development process since 2007. Our primary goal was and is simple: to increase and improve academic and student support space in the core of Reynolda Campus. I am pleased to announce that our work has yielded a conceptual plan for a set of near-term, well-sequenced actions to improve and expand space in the Reynolda Campus academic core. Read more.

Commencement and Baccalaureate speakers announced
One of the nation’s top health leaders, Dr. Mandy K. Cohen, will deliver the commencement address on Monday, May 20. Dr. Cohen is the Director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. The baccalaureate speaker will be Reverend Gary Dorrien, Reinhold Niebuhr Professor of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary and Professor of Religion at Columbia University.

Students received an email about the University’s upcoming switch to Workday Student, the new system you’ll use to manage your personal contact information, register for classes, pay your bills, and more. We encourage students to participate in our readiness sessions:

First-year undergraduate student survey
First-year undergraduate students: Please check your email and complete the brief, 11-question survey on the topic of mental health you received on Monday, Feb. 19. The data from this survey is designed to provide insights to help us understand first-year students’ mental health needs in The Forest. The survey will be open until Sunday, Mar. 3.
Upcoming events
Face to Face Student Event, 5 p.m. today (Thursday, Feb. 22) Wait Chapel. Students will be required to present their student ID to gain admittance. Doors to Wait Chapel will open at 3:30 p.m., and the student-led event will begin at 5 p.m. A clear-bag policy will be in place.
Theatre: Sense & Sensibility, Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The Department of Theatre & Dance presents Sense and Sensibility, a fun and lively adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel. Additional performances Feb. 23-25. Ring Theatre.
Machine Learning: What does it change and why does it matter?, Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. (reception) and 5:30 p.m. (panel discussion), Farrell Hall A27. An interdisciplinary exploration of the capabilities and limitations of AI engines and the philosophical implications and practical consequences in legal, social, educational, and artistic domains.
Chaplain Tim Auman announces retirement — After 25 years of dedicated and exemplary service to Wake Forest, Tim Auman will retire as university chaplain effective June 30. Tim began at Wake Forest as the United Methodist campus minister and has achieved many notable accomplishments during his tenure.
Student voting in NC Primaries — One-Stop Early Voting is Feb. 15-March 2; in-person primary is March 5. Photo ID required.
