Hi Friends!
Thanks to all the league members who came out for the event for the School District Consolidation Study. It was very interesting and informative! Thanks to Donna Limper and her team for all the work that went into this study. The next step is to encourage your local school district to join with the other LP feeder schools in commissioning an expert report on the financial ramifications of a consolidation. There is no cost to the schools.

The next major event that LWVRB is hosting is a forum on Home Rule in Roselle that will be on the ballot in the primary election. It is taking place at the Roselle Public Library on Thursday, February 29 at 7 PM. Please plan on attending and have your questions answered by the knowledgeable panel that Susan Dal Porto has pulled together.

And lastly, the Voter Services Committee is kicking into high gear - it’s our major focus this election year. If you are interested in getting involved in the efforts to Get Out The Vote – please contact Roberta Borrino at  Roberta.Borrino@gmail.com to see how you can get involved! There’s plenty of work to go around and you will have fun doing it!

In League, Sue Coleman, Co-President

Attend our Roselle Home Rule Discussion
In the March 19, 2024 election, voters will have an opportunity to vote on the very important question of whether the Village of Roselle should become a Home Rule entity.  Be an informed voter by participating in an in-depth discussion of "Why Home Rule?" on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the Roselle Public Library  Attend this discussion and learn what Home Rule does, how communities all around us who have Home Rule have used it, and how it might affect your taxes. Presenters include Roselle Trustee, Tom Della Penna, Bloomingdale City Manager, Peter Scalera, and Hanover Park Mayor, Rodney Craig.  There will be an opportunity for your questions.

Attend the DuPage County Judicial Candidate Town Hall
You are invited to join the DuPage County Bar Association and the Appellate Lawyers Association for a Judicial Candidate Town Hall on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 5 pm in the Bauer Mock Trial Room at the College of DuPage. Meet and ask questions to some of the Judicial Candidates on this year’s ballot.

Engage directly with the judicial candidates and gain valuable insights into their backgrounds, experience, and vision for the future. The Judicial Candidate Town Hall aims to foster a deeper understanding of the individuals seeking to serve our community in the judicial system. Your presence and participation will contribute to a vibrant and informed electorate, strengthening our commitment to justice and fairness for all.

All candidates have been invited and informed of the event. All candidates on the graphic have confirmed their attendance for the Town Hall. This event is free and open to the public.
