Cost for MCA or CCI member camps:

Full Conference - $175/person

Wednesday only or Thursday only, no overnight - $65/person

Pre-conference training (Psychological First-Aid)

Members $177 (includes accommodations, meals, course and material)

Keynote speaker: Joel Hilchey

Joel Hilchey
Executive Producer & CEO, Beanstalk Creative

Joel is an ideas guy. His gift seems to stem from a strange combination of observation, insight, and blatant disregard for conventional thinking.

He's also a juggler (literally and figuratively). In addition to leading the Beanstalk Creative team, he maintains a busy schedule as a keynote speaker, creating unforgettable spectacles on stage. He's the father of 3 kids, 2 of whom co-habitated a uterus, and he attempts to be a good husband. Joel has authored 3 books, (2 of them with Brandon Love), and he taught engineering for over a decade at McMaster University, where he was named one of the Top 150+ Alumni. He’s a seasoned barbershop quartet singer, he formerly chaired the board of the world-renowned Hamilton Children’s Choir, and he's a semi-competitive joggler (that's right... juggling whilst jogging). Keynote speaker: Craig W. Douglas

Craig has been involved in camp and youth ministry for over 35 years, an astounding feat given that he is only27 years old. Thanks to a very tolerant staff and board, he has served as Executive Director at Timberline Ranch in Maple Ridge, BC, since 2005. He has a wife and two adult children.

He has written two books: Pillow Fights & Sleepless Nights (Christian camp leadership) and Two Paths (Christian discipleship). These can be ordered wherever books are sold or directly through him.

He enjoys hanging with his family, hiking, kayaking, playing guitar, teaching, traveling, reading, and playing European board games. Basically, he has far too many interests to be particularly good at anything, but he is passionate about following Jesus and helping the next generation grow and succeed.

1:30 pm – Optional Tour at Gimli Bible Camp (and Camp Massad, weather permitting) *if GBC only, then 3pm

4-6 pm – Arrival & Registration at Camp Arnes

6 pm – Supper

8:00 pm – Fun, interactive Trivia Nite hosted by Camp Arnes staff

Pre-Conference Training (at Camp Arnes): Psychological First Aid
This course equips learners in developing a personal understanding of the effects of stress, loss, trauma and grief on others, with emphasis on self-care and personal protection. Learners will be introduced to the Red Cross Look, Listen, Link, Live model - a resiliency-building approach to emotional, psychological, and social well-being that teaches learners how to support themselves and others to cope with the effects of various types of stress. The course uses primarily case-based learning and includes the latest evidence from the international community. The course recognizes the different supports we need such as the emotional, physical and spiritual.

Note for Course Participants
While mental health first aid programs teach how to help someone experiencing a mental health emergency, Red Cross Psychological First Aid is a resiliency-based program for everyone that offers prevention and coping strategies for dealing with different types of stress resulting from various types of trauma.

Monday check in at4pm at Camp Arnes – settle in, introduction, dinner, evening session; Tuesday –all day until supper
