 MALABRIGO KNIT ALONG
beginning March 1

 
We have twenty amazing colors of a new-to-store exquisite yarn from Malabrigo:  Dos Tierras. 
Participants will be knitting the Friendship Shawl
by Jill Tamminen of Knit Sisu. 
A sample garment is on display in the store.  
It's  a fun project suited for all knitters.  
 

This is a MALABRIGO KAL,
not a store-specific knit a long.  
Weekly prizes are awarded directly from Malabrigo.

KAL participants are invited to share their progress and photos on Ravelry, Facebook, and Instagram 
during March 2024 for the chance to win weekly prizes. When posting, please use
#malabrigokal on all social media channels.

To be eligible for the prizes, projects must be knit using only malabrigo Dos Tierras.

*Prizes will be selected by Malabrigo Team. Winners will be contacted by email or Instagram messages.

A little more about this beautiful yarn . . . . 

Dos Tierras means Two Lands, reflecting the sources of the two amazing fibers found in this ultra-soft yarn. 50% fine Uruguayan Merino wool, 50% baby alpaca creates a 4-ply DK weight yarn with great stitch definition

will be CLOSED SUNDAY as usual,
but a number of other participating shops will be open Sunday
 

Please refer to the Crawl-Specific web site for complete details. 
However, there are a few things to bear in mind:
  • If you want to participate, it must be done through the website. You cannot register for the crawl in the store. 
  • We will have a few "extra" tote bags but unless you sign up really soon, we probably won't have many available. 
  • Please go to the store who you signed up with to collect your passport and/or tote.
  • The store will very likely be very busy, as there are hundreds of registered participants as of this writing.  Please be patient and cooperative with your fellow shoppers.
  • All Crawlers will receive a free pattern and a verification stamp in your passport book, whether you make a purchase or not.  Crawlers who visit all 16 stores will be eligible for grand prize raffles (check out details on the website). 
  • There will be an in-store raffle for a great basket of yarn-y items (valued at approximately $150) IF YOU MAKE A PURCHASE of any size.
  • Winner of the EVF store raffle will be notified by email and will be responsible for picking up their prize from the store.  No raffle prizes will be mailed.
  • We will be featuring a few new items during the Crawl, including the ultra-cute stitch stoppers from Fox&Pine -- and a good selection of the TOFT crocheted animal kits in celebration of March being National Crochet Month!
If any of you would be interested in volunteering Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to help with coordinating all the customers we are expecting, please let me know dates/times in which you would be available.  We are thinking of perhaps 2-hour shifts throughout the day.
 
Four years ago this month I was able to go to 
the Edinburgh Yarn Festival and meet KERRY LORD,
designer of this gigantic crocheted
Highland "Coo" (cow).  

Beginning with the Greater Philly Yarn Crawl,
we'll now be carrying her amazing lines of assorted crocheted animal kits
(though they are not nearly so big!).  
Her company, TOFT, is headquartered in
Warwickshire UK and
creates all sorts of imaginative designs.  
And last but not least --  it's time to participate
in this year's

6th ANNUAL SHAWL CRAWL


Select your yarn from EVF and let us know
which pattern you will be making.

Any type of shawl works --
knit, crochet, large, small, rectangular,
circular, or any shape you desire.

You will get a 10% off coupon for your NEXT yarn purchase when used by September 30.

Our Shawl Crawl begins on Tuesday, March 19.  HOORAY!

Return your finished shawl by June 15.  
This year the shawls will be displayed on the table.  
Touching and examining each
will be allowed and encouraged.

You can vote for your favorite shawl once each day beginning June 18 through 28; no purchase required.

  Winners will be announced June 29.  

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place prizes will be on display
in the store beginning March 26.

My ankle is braced but I’m moving slowly.
