DE Workshop Application

This advanced workshop is targeted towards undergraduate or graduate students in biology or related fields.

Come learn about differential gene expression analysis in this virtual workshop that will teach you with hands-on analysis from start to finish. This differential expression workshop covers basic linus skills, quality control, read alignment, abundance estimation, differential expression analysis, visualization, and pathway analysis. Note that this workshop covers differential expression of bulk tissues (single cell expression is a separate workshop).

6th Annual Alaska Indigenous Research Program (AKIRP) - May 6-24, 2024 @ Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage. The Alaska Indigenous Research Program (AKIRP) is a collaboration between the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) and Alaska Pacific University (APU) to increase capacity for conducting culturally responsive and respectful health research that addresses the unique settings and health needs of Alaska Native and American Indian People. Since 2019, AKIRP has built a network of Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, researchers, health professionals and scientists with almost 500 participants from Alaska, the contiguous US, Canada and other parts of the world.

International Congress for Circumpolar Health (ICCH18) - June 18-20, 2024 in Yellowknife, Canada. The ICCH is held every 3-4 years. It is open to anyone interested in circumpolar issues. The ICCH participants include scientists, researchers, health care professionals, policy analysts, government representatives and community leaders. NIH Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Institute - Aug 5-9, 2024 @ Bethesda, MD. 15th International Conference on Brain Energy Metabolism (ICBEM) - Sept 17-21, 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia:  "Brain Bioenergetics in Aging - Neurovascular and Neurometabolic Coupling and Fuels". This conference brings together leading researchers, clinicians, young scientists, and students interested in brain energy metabolism. The conference is open to all interested scientists with registration on a first-come basis until reaching a limit of 118 conferees. Registration covers most meals and meeting expenses. URSA Innovative Technology and Education Awards - Accepting Applications February 5 - March 10, 2024 (by 11:59 pm) URSA's ITE Awards offer up to $5,000 to support purchases of technology-related equipment, or software to be used in student-based instruction and/or research or project work. Funds for these awards come from a percentage of student fees.
