Immersing ourselves in the Abortion and Reproductive Justice Conference was more than an event – it was a journey into the heart of critical dialogues surrounding reproductive rights, justice, and health. As TICAH ventured into this enriching space, we discovered the power of open conversations, the beauty of intentional collaboration, and the profound impact of self and collective care.

Networking with passionate activists, advocates and experts was a revelation, reinforcing our commitment to advancing reproductive rights. The theme of the "unfinished revolution" resonated deeply, igniting a realization that our work is an integral part of this transformative narrative.

What emerged as a powerful takeaway was the role of art in sparking conversations about reproductive issues, even the sensitive topic of unsafe abortion. The self-care zone became a haven for rejuvenation, emphasizing the importance of well-being in our collective pursuit.

In the words of Jade (Our Executive Director), the conference affirmed,

"The revolution cannot finish until all of us are free."

This statement echoes in our reflections, motivating us to integrate these profound learnings into our initiatives. TICAH stands poised at the intersection of innovation, collaboration, and care, contributing to the ongoing revolution for comprehensive healthcare and reproductive justice.

EPISODE ONE OUT NOW!

In partnership with Nairobi County Government School Health Program, we held a 3-day Training of Trainers (TOTs) on child protection and safeguarding. The training was held to enhance school health focal person’s and community facilitators' capacity to facilitate conversations on child protection and safeguarding in schools. TICAH’s Child Protection Program is designed to address the increased cases of child abuse within Nairobi County with a focus on prevention and response.

The facilitators were equipped with the knowledge on children's rights within national and international legal instruments, child abuse, violence prevention and response mechanisms, gender justice, emerging trends such as climate change-violence against children linkage as well as TICAH’s child protection policy. The 34 TOTs will be better equipped to hold such conversations and effectively deliver child rights education.
