1. Sean and Heather's Ministry Roles
During the 2005 combat operations in Iraq, the support staff in the U.S. military outnumbered the combat troops 8 to 1. Troops need strong support to survive and to succeed in their mission. The same is true for God's foot soldiers, the field missionaries. In World Team, we flip those numbers around, with about ten times the number of field missionaries to support staff.
We, Sean and Heather, are still on needed missionary support, but our roles during this season of stateside assignment largely involve supporting our teams of 300 church planters among the unreached in Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia. As veteran field missionaries, we're able to offer training, care, mentoring and coaching from an insider's perspective.

Sean
- Leads a team that creates and communicates missionary enrichment material to help our church planters keep their eyes on Jesus. We want our missionaries fueled by God's grace in Christ.
- Member of the area leadership team for Latin America and the Caribbean that provides supervision and support to WT missionaries in this region, sets strategic vision, and cultivates our partnerships with national churches.
- Doing an expansive study on how North American mission agencies can overcome the obstacles to being more ethnically diverse in our missionary force.
Heather
- Serves on WT's Child Safeguarding Team, which provides training to all WT personnel on best practices for child safety and responds to reports of concern.
- Pursuing a Master's degree in missionary care and counseling in order to help missionaries and their families thrive.
