Saturday, March 23rd

Creative Circle: Play Day

All Northlake crafters are invited to join Creative Circle for a Play Day on Saturday Feb. 17th from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm in the Sanctuary. Bring lunch and enjoy a day of crafting!

Reminder, there is added security on the campus. Kol Ami is posting a person at each entrance, so enter only through the upstairs doors, and explain that you are here for the Creative Circle Play Day. If you have any concerns, give Robin a call and she can meet you at your car or at the front door. There will be lanyards for everyone when you arrive.

Listening Circles

In person:  Wednesday, March 6 7:00 p.m., Sunday March 10th & 17th at noon

Zoom: Thursday March 7th 2:00 & 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12th 4:00 p.m.

We are hosting a series of listening circles so members of the church can join small groups to listen to each other, and have time to share thoughts. In March the topic will be about the ministry of the church, meaning we will have a chance to learn what you envision in terms of worship, justice and community with Northlake. Please register ahead of time as circles will be limited to 8-10 people.

Making Good Trouble: 10 Tactics of Fascism

Sunday, Feb. 18th
11:45am
Adams Hall

We will watch a 10 minutes video from Jason Stanley about fascism. If you have time beforehand to read his book How Fascism Works, that would be good, but this video gives an overview of his major points. We will follow with a discussion. Please join us! If you might be interested in planning vigils, rallies or workshops let Rev. Nancy know!

God & Country

Documentary produced by Rob Reiner on Christian Nationalism, showing at the Regal in Renton. Join us for a movie trip on Saturday, February 17th. Movie starts at 12:30. Here is the trailer: https://youtu.be/-MFQ2uESrjU?si=RagdRHqU7bPvHL5b

Join Marianna Tostada-Alvarez and the Board to discuss the Mission & Vision of Northlake. The conversation to review and revise the Northlake mission & vision statements started a year ago with Janet Hall & Marianna, and the new language is ready for another round of discussion and input. Please join Marianna to offer your input about what the purpose and goals of our church could be.

Listening Circle Facilitator Training

Saturday, March 2nd

This training will be for anyone who is thinking of leadership in the church, and is particularly aimed for those who plan to facilitate circle discussions in March around the ministry programs of the church, or the circle discussion in April around the 10-Year Vision of Northlake. Register at minister@northlakeuu.org

Creative Circle: Water Challenge

The Creative Circle would like to launch the Water Challenge to the entire congregation. This piece of art can be anything that can be hung on a wall of the sanctuary but not exceed 3" in depth. Photos, fine art, metal, clay, fabric, fiber, you name it. All art forms will be accepted. Reach out to Mary De Friel, mary@defriel.com, for more information.

Uncorked & Pub Theology

Beginning in March second Saturday (March 9th) we will be adding an afternoon gathering called "Uncorked", 3:30- 5:00.
Bring your own beverage! This will be the same question and discussion format at Pub Theology, but offered at Hanley House on the Northlake campus, which will offer more accessibility for those who may prefer daylight and easier parking.

Share the Plate Survey of Interests

The Share the Plate Team will be sending an email with a link to a survey to get a current idea of what organizations and issues are of the greatest importance to the Northlake Community. Please watch for the survey and complete it when you have time. We would like the results by Mid-March.
