Ask for $20 Million in Affordable Housing Funding for LIHTC and Rural Rental

Please support Part "GG" that transfers $10,000,000 from the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund to the Maine State Housing Authority for new housing units through the Affordable Homeownership program.
Please support Part "HH" that transfers $16,000,000 from the unappropriated surplus of the General Fund to the Maine State Housing Authority for the Emergency Housing Relief Fund program.
We appreciate the historic investments made in housing over the last four years, but Maine's housing crisis continues. We ask that you add a $20 million investment to Maine Housing to be split between LIHTC and the Rural Affordable Rental Housing program to help address the housing crisis.
Building housing is a one time investment, with long term impact and benefits for Maine.
