Friday March 15, 2024
A huge THANK YOU to Chris Royles, Matt Roslevich, Rodney Stuhl, The Blaise Alexander Family Dealership's, WRite On Designs and all of the staff who made our District Pinewood Derby a huge success!
Upcoming Meetings
Join us on Thursday March 21 at 7PM at St. Johns Church in Northumberland for our monthly Roundtable meeting.  All are welcome to attend this meeting!
Let's come together to celebrate the accomplishments of our Scouters, Crews, Packs, and Troops in 2023!
We will gather to salute the Eagles who fledged throughout 2023, reward deserving Scouters, reflect on the year, enjoy fellowship at the Silver Moon Banquet Hall, browse the patches and memorabilia silent auction items, and partake in a tasty meal.
Fellowship begins at 4:30. For $30, you can enjoy stuffed chicken breast, meatless baked ziti, macaroni and cheese, steamed vegetables and dessert. You can also choose to donate an extra $30 to sponsor the meal of an attending Eagle Scout. Scouts who passed their Eagle Boards of Review in 2023 are free, but must register so we know you're coming.
The program will start with recognition of this year's class of Eagle Scouts, followed by dinner, then a volunteer recognition program and awarding of Silver Beaver awards. Register now! The deadline to register is April 5th.
Please wear your Class A uniform with a belt you can let out a notch!

Leadership Requirements

Two registered adult leaders 21 years of age or over are required at all Scouting activities, including all meetings. There must be a registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over in every unit serving females. A registered female adult leader 21 years of age or over must be present for any activity involving female youth or female adult program participants.

The unit must provide adequate leadership of a minimum of two leaders to meet the two deep leadership requirement. Additionally, there should be one adult leader for every eight scouts at all meetings and events.

Effective March 1, 2024, the adult application flow will change to require the completion of the Criminal Background Check(CBC) (results must be received) before the new adult volunteer can assume a leadership role. This means that all adult registration applications, clearances, and Youth Protection Training must be submitted to the Registrar at the Susquehanna Council Service Center two weeks prior to the desired date to be a leader to allow proper time to submit and process these applications.  The adult leader will get an email novice informing them that their registration is being processed, and they are not to assume any leadership roles until the completion of the CBC. The unit key 3 will also get an email.  Once the CBC comes back and there is no follow-up needed, the system will finish registering the person. An email will then be sent to the unit key 3 and the individual letting them know that they are registered as an active leader.  This active leader status must be attained prior to attending any unit outing or serving in any leadership capacity.

Scout Shop

Please be aware that due to the new Cub Scout program coming soon, we are currently selling through our inventory of the current Cub Scout items like books, belt loops, pins, and patches.

What does this mean for you? We may not have items you need in stock.  We will be able to special order in more items if needed. This means you will need to Be Prepared and place your order far enough in advance for items to be ordered if needed.

You can submit your orders in advance to Janis Smith at Janis.Smith@scouting.org.

Caution on use of Camp K

The Susquehanna Council has contracted to harvest timber in the southern section of camp to thin the forest as a forest management measure in that part of camp. This section of camp is entirely forested area. The cutting of trees began in late February. The southern section of camp is off limits for use for any activity until the tree cutting and cleanup is complete. The off-limits area includes all of the Boundary Road and the Boundary Trail.

All the facilities and main activity areas at camp are available for use and not within the off-limits area.

Note: the logging trucks will be using the Boundary Road and Thomas Dam Road for access to and from the harvest area. Thus, Boundary Road is closed. Extra caution is advised when using Thomas Dam Road.
