Letter To The Alliance

Dear ARA community,

We are one quarter through 2024 and rolling!

Recently, the Secretariat has had the privilege of participating in the 4th Gobeshona Global Conference alongside many members and is eagerly anticipating the upcoming 18th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation to Climate Change (registration now open!).

This first quarter hasn't disappointed in terms of ground-level work either. We are concluding the second round of Grassroots Action Research Micro-grants and transitioning into the next phase of Co-creation Spaces focusing on Smallholder Agriculture, Urban Resilience, and Empowering Universities in Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

Collaboration and partnerships – both within the ARA and the wider adaptation community – have been pivotal to the success of all these activities. Let's keep this going strong and continue to strengthen our networks in the months ahead.

Jesse DeMaria-Kinney
ARA Head of Secretariat

ARA at Gobeshona

In a recent session at the fourth Gobeshona Global Conference, together with IIED and UNDP, we delved into two critical themes shaping the landscape of resilience and policy-making: Empowering universities in least developed countries (LDCs) to directly influence policies and actions, and developing innovative solutions for urban resilience.
