I believe there is something very special about Sarah and I teaching together. Our deep connection, shared history, and extensive expertise in anatomical and somatic education, dance training, and bodywork practice all contribute to the quality of our classes. The fact that Sarah and I dance together, conduct research together, and invest significant time and care into planning our classes reflects our commitment to providing a rich learning experience for our students. Our shared history, familiarity, and mutual respect enables us to complement each other in real-time -
just like a CI duet.
Sarah and I perform, teach, and collaborate alongside our fellow SetGO ensemble members: Paul Singh, Bradley Teal-Ellis, and Shura Baryshnikov. These are all badass dancers who hold teaching positions at esteemed universities such as Juilliard, Brown, and NYU. We consider it a privilege to learn collectively and then share this wealth of knowledge within our community.

In these workshops, we will bring awareness and availability to different joints and areas of the body. Each workshop will have a different focus (shoulders, pelvis, feet, spine…). Through somatic practices and exercises for mobility and articulation, we will open up and ready our bodies for tuned and expansive dancing. By releasing gripping patterns in different areas, our bodies become more available to find ease, adaptability and clarity in fundamental Contact Improvisation dancing, and beyond.
