Asian Media Access' Youth have taken on the initiative to produce a "Stop the Vape" Video PSA, and entered it into MN's "Escape the Vape Video Challenge," to raise awareness of the dangers of using e-cigarettes. AMA youth have created a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) video to educate their peers and community on the dangers of vaping nicotine, and use their creative energy to make a difference in their community.

From Local Stages to Broadway: Celebrating the Transformative Magic of Live Theater
This past week, AMA was kindly invited to "The Name Jar," a play running until April 14, 2024, at the Stages Theatre Company, and to the "Lion King" at the Orpheum. The "The Name Jar," performance was enjoyable and easy to follow, with great use of sound effects. The details in the story, acting, costumes, and props were impressive, adding authenticity to the experience.

Justice is not always upheld, especially in the face of racism. Bias in the judicial system has always been and will likely continue to be a major problem. However, the consequences of discrimination in a judicial system that was promised to be unbiased are of immense significance.Four decades ago, the racially motivated killing of an Asian American and the unfairness of the resulting court case led to increased activism for the rights of Asian Americans.
Want to learn the Hmong language? Studies have shown that speaking a second language can improve your cognitive skills, even those that don't relate to the language. Whether you are Hmong or non-Hmong and would like to explore the Hmong language and literacy, we are offering FREE virtual and in-person classes for our diverse community members who wish to learn the Hmong language (White/Green dialects). With a focus on Hmong vocabularies, alphabet, speech, and practical communication to help individual(s) gain confidence and fluency in Hmong, our elders and instructors will offer these FREE courses from the H18C Education Department if there is enough Hmong and non-Hmong individuals register for either the virtual or in-person classes.
Explore the African American fight for full citizenship and racial equality that unfolded in the 50 years after the Civil War. The Minnesota Historical Society is hosting an exhibit on Black Citizenship in the Age of Jim Crow at the Minnesota History Center through June 9.
