Upcoming Meetings
Join us on Thursday March 14th at 7PM at St. Johns Church in Northumberland for our monthly District Committee meeting. This meeting will be held upstairs in the library. Enter on the 3rd street side of the church through the top set of red doors.  All are welcome to attend this meeting!
Let's come together to celebrate the accomplishments of our Scouters, Crews, Packs, and Troops in 2023!
We will gather to salute the Eagles who fledged throughout 2023, reward deserving Scouters, reflect on the year, enjoy fellowship at the Silver Moon Banquet Hall, browse the patches and memorabilia silent auction items, and partake in a tasty meal.
Fellowship begins at 4:30. For $30, you can enjoy stuffed chicken breast, meatless baked ziti, macaroni and cheese, steamed vegetables and dessert. You can also choose to donate an extra $30 to sponsor the meal of an attending Eagle Scout. Scouts who passed their Eagle Boards of Review in 2023 are free, but must register so we know you're coming.
The program will start with recognition of this year's class of Eagle Scouts, followed by dinner, then a volunteer recognition program and awarding of Silver Beaver awards. Register now! The deadline to register is April 5th.
Please wear your Class A uniform with a belt you can let out a notch!

The Buddy System

The Buddy System is where Scouts group together in groups of a minimum of two Scouts.  These Scouts then stay together at all times when they are not in the campsite when camping or in the main meeting room at a meeting. The Buddy System should be used during every meeting, outing, and camping trip.  The Buddy System is one of the ways to ensure that all Scouts are accounted for and is a very important Barrier to Abuse.

Buddy system guidelines:
  • The buddy system should be used at all times, not just for aquatics. Horseback riding, cycling, canvassing the neighborhood during a fundraiser…you name it, you need a buddy.
  • It’s recommended that buddies know and be comfortable with each other. No youth should be forced into or made to feel uncomfortable by a buddy assignment.
  • It is strongly encouraged to pair Scouts of similar abilities, ages and maturity. Buddy pairs should be no more than two years apart in age and should be single gender. There are no boy-girl buddy pairs in any programs, including Venturing and Sea Scouts. Adults (anyone over the age of 18) may not be a youth members buddy.  This means that a Venturing crew can not have a 17 year old youth be the buddy of a 19 year old Venturing Participant. In Venturing and Sea Scouting, buddies must be under the age of 18 and aged 18-21.
  • A buddy team may consist of three Scouts when necessary, like an odd number in a group.
