We are thrilled to bring back this series highlighting different roles for pharmacists in the cannabis industry. We have 2 events on our calendar and invite you to join. These events are free for members and $15 for non-members. 

Dispensary Pharmacist: Join Raymond Vellky and Travis Poonai discuss their roles and responsibilities as a dispensary pharmacist 

Medical Writing: Join Simi Burn and Megan Hollingsworth will discuss their careers as medical writers specializing in cannabis.

Our board of directors has decided to consolidate a few of our committees based on overlap and the desire to streamline our efficiency. 
Here are the new acronyms: 

Clinical Practice and Research + Quality Assurance and Patient Safety = CPRQA 
Education and Professional Development + Advocacy = EPDA


CPRQA will have their first meeting on April 18, 2024
Tentative agenda: project timelines for our research paper(s), formulation guides, glossary of terms, and upcoming cannabis consequences 102.

EPDA will have their first meeting on May 13, 2024
Tentative agenda: upcoming continuing education strategies and advocacy initiatives.

New Research Interview:
HCP Perceptions on Drug Interactions   

Kojo Abanyie, PharmD is inviting dispensary pharmacists to participate in a research interview to understand how clinicians manage potential interactions between medicinal cannabis and prescription medications in dispensary settings. Your insights are crucial in informing the development of clinical decision support tools for making informed decisions regarding potential natural product drug interactions as a result of concurrent cannabis and prescription medication use.

• Survey Duration: 30 minutes – 1 hour
This is a live and interactive interview (not a survey questionnaire)
• Compensation: Participants will receive a $60 debit card after completing the interview (after taxes).

There are no foreseeable risks associated with this research project, and all responses will be kept confidential in password-protected files. Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time.
