Hi Sweet Friends,

In this special edition of the newsletter, I feature six delicious recipes you can make to celebrate St Patrick's Day on Sunday, March 17. It's just over a week away, so find the recipes you and your family would enjoy and get your shopping list together to make sure you get all your ingredients and the choicest corned beef at your local grocery store.

This popular Traditional Corned Beef And Cabbage recipe is exactly what I'm going to make for St. Patrick's Day.

I picked out my ingredients this week:
  • Bay Leaves and Black Peppercorns
  • Carrots
  • Corned Beef
  • Green Cabbage
  • Thin Skinned Potatoes
  • Yellow Onions
I already had my bay leaves and black peppercorns in my pantry. I also didn't need to get yellow onions since I bought some extra in preparation for making my French Onion Soup recipe.

When you select your corned beef, remember to get one that says "flat cut." This type of corned beef will cook evenly and slice beautifully. And don't forget, no matter how you cook your Corned Beef, when you go to slice it, be sure to cut "against the grain" to get those beautiful, picture-perfect slices. (I show you how to do this in my Instant Pot Corned Beef and Cabbage recipe.)

Oh, and don't forget the condiments. My family enjoys a variety of mustards with their corned beef. My son Ben and I like grainy mustards, while my husband Ted prefers regular yellow mustard the best.

In addition to your main dish, I have recipes in today's newsletter to show you how to make Irish Soda bread, a St. Patrick's Bacon Casserole, and Traditional Irish Apple Cake.

I hope you'll find many tasty recipes to make your St. Patrick's Day special this year! 😊

Corned Beef and Cabbage Recipes

Don't be afraid to make a lot since leftovers reheat beautifully. I always like to quarter my cabbages and leave the core intact since it keeps the cabbage together and makes for a nice presentation when served.
