Wasatch Front Airgun League hosts the

2024 Fun Shoot on April 12-13, 2024. Details Below.

It’s time to register for the 2024 Fun Shoot, hosted by the Wasatch Front Airgun League (WFAL). Select the link below (bottom of the page) to register. The Fun Shoot is limited to the first sixty (60) registrants. Once these spots are filled, we will maintain a wait list. Here are some questions and answers about the event:


When is the 2024 Fun Shoot? Friday and Saturday, April 12-13, 2024, 8 AM to 5 PM daily, with an awards banquet on Saturday evening at 5-7 PM. FYI, the Northeast Airgun Classic in New Hampshire is April 17-21, 2024, the following weekend.


Where will the event take place? Garth Killpack Shooting Range, located at 110 Hobble Creek Rd, Springville, UT 84663. See link. http://www.hobblecreekrange.org/


What events will we shoot?

  1. 100 Yard Pellet Benchrest, up to 2x cards and a final. Generally, standard RMAC rules apply. Each preliminary round will be 20 minutes. The top 5-7 shooters from each round will compete in the final.

  2. 150/200 Yard Slug Benchrest, 1x card and a final. The preliminary round will be shot at 150 yards. The top 5 scores from each preliminary round advance to the final, which will be at 200 yards. No power restrictions. You are encouraged to have a spotter with a spotting scope. Your spotter CAN coach and communicate with you during the match. The targets will be standard RMAC-style targets, which are 3’x4’, with 25x bullseyes, and 5x sight-in bullseyes.

  3. NRL22/Precision Rifle (standard NRL22 airgun division rules apply). We will have two classes, per NRL22 rules, i.e. standard and adaptive. The adaptive class will shoot from the bench. The standard class will shoot the positions as stated in the April 2024 course of fire.

  4. Speed challenge. All shooting will be from the bench.


What are the prizes? These amounts are subject to change, depending on the number of shooters. WFAL reserves the right to award cash, check, or store credit vouchers.

  1. 100 Yard Pellet Benchrest, 1st, $300; 2nd, $200; 3rd, $100.

  2. 100 Yard Slug Benchrest, 1st, $300; 2nd, $200; 3rd, $100.

  3. NRL22, 1st, $150; 2nd, $100; 3rd, $50 (per class).

  4. Speed Challenge, TBA.


What is the cost? $200 for registration, which includes participation in the matches, two lunches, t-shirt, raffle entry, and awards dinner.

Who are the sponsors for this event? Our primary sponsor is UTAH AIRGUNS. (see link - Utah Airguns or UtahAirguns.com). Others are Hawke Optics, Shooter 1721 (Rick Reem), Stud Magazine, and Jayson Barnes. We traditionally have around 10-15 sponsors who provide items for the raffle table. More sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks. If you’d like to be a sponsor or provide raffle items, let us know!


What are the range rules?  Yes. (see link http://www.hobblecreekrange.org/about.html)


Is there a range map?  Yes. To be provided with your shooter’s packet.


Which range venues will we shoot at Garth Killpack? We will shoot at the Large Bore and Small Bore ranges.


Who hosts the event? Wasatch Front Airgun League, Inc. (aka WFAL), a Utah non-profit corporation (see Wasatch Front Airgun League | Facebook).


Who should come? Airgunners with PCPs, calibers .177 and up. Youth shooters (under age 18) are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or adult.


Can guests attend the dinner? Yes, at a cost of $40 per person.


What are the raffle items? To be announced. Watch the WFAL Facebook page for pics and raffle details.


What if you sign up, but do not attend the Fun Shoot? Shooters who register for the Fun Shoot, but who do not participate, will receive a refund if they cancel their registration within two weeks of the event.


When is the Fun Shoot registration fee due? March 25th. We will send out PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle fund requests in mid-March. For those paying by check, payment must be received by March 25th.


Is there a minimum number of shooters for the match to happen? Yes. We need at least 40 shooters to register for the match or it may be cancelled. We have had between 45-65 shooters at each of the past nine (9x) WFAL events, dating back to early 2020.


Where do the shooters come from? These shooters come from as many as 10 different states, and 10 different Utah counties. Currently there are shooters registered from five (5) states, including Nevada, Arizona, California, Idaho, and Utah.
