The WHRC is partnering with the Women’s Health Research Institute and Gynecologic Cancer Initiative to bring you a Trainee Research Presentation highlighting clinical research on women’s health. April 15th Considering Sex- and Gender-Related Mechanisms in Autism Neuroscience

June 2nd-7th Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting 2024
CNPRM 2024 will bring together perinatal and child research groups networks across Canada. This meeting will serve as a platform to foster collaborative research endeavors, facilitate data sharing, provide training, and encourage networking among researchers and institutions. Health Equity Research Grants
This Canadian Cancer Society funding opportunity supports work that seeks to advance cancer-related health equity. For this round of funding, there is a special call for grant applications focused on breast cancer in specific underserved communities. Budgets should not exceed $450,000 over 3 years per grant. The Letter of Intent deadline is March 26, 2024. Learn more.
State Maternal Health Innovation Program
This National Institute of Health funding opportunity aims to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity by improving access to care throughout the preconception, prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum periods. $18,000,000 is available to fund 18 awards. Apply by April 2nd. Read more.
Management of Metabolic Morbidity in Women and Others with PCOS
This funding opportunity is offered by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. Projects must assess the clinical and cost-effectiveness of interventions for prevention and management of metabolic morbidity in women and others with PCOS. Additional details can be found here. The Interdisciplinary Centre for Black Health and the Vulnerability, Trauma, Resilience and Culture Research Laboratory is seeking abstracts for their upcoming conference scheduled for October 16-18th at the University of Ottawa. Researchers, students, practitioners, community organizations and leaders, and individuals with experience in mental health care are invited to submit proposals. The Program Assistant will aid in ensuring optimal function of the Women’s Inpatient Unit by performing environmental safety scans, escorting patients, conducting behavioural observation and more. The Women’s Health Centre Medical Genetics Team at the BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre is seeking a Registration/Booking Clerk to perform clerical duties, including: scheduling patient appointments, processing referrals, maintaining databases and more. 2 years of experience in similar work is preferred. Misty Pratt is Publishing a New Book on Women’s Mental Health
WHRC member, Misty Pratt is a communications officer in the field of health research and medicine. Her new novel entitled “All In Her Head: How Gender Bias Harms Women's Mental Health,” is being published by Greystone Books on May 7, 2024 (Canada/US) and June 6 in the UK.
