Planning for Discoveree 2025 starts in May. It might be hard to believe, but yes, planning for the next event starts in May. That is when our committee will be meeting to pick a date, review evaluations from this year's event, and taking a look at the results of our 3 pilot programs (new leader discount, overnight accommodations, and childcare offerings).

We heard a lot from volunteers at Discoveree about mental health. It is clear from national news as well as our interactions with our Girl Scouts that many girls are struggling. We adults want to help but many are not sure how. Many of us are trained in how to help if someone is physically injured (we've all sat through First Aid classes) but did you know that there is something similar for mental health?
Mental Health First Aid
The National Council for Mental Wellbeing offers hybrid Mental Health First Aid classes for youth, teens, or adults. Part of the course is self-paced and online and the other part can be done in-person or via a zoom class with an instructor. You receive a 3-year certification in Mental Health First Aid at the end of the course.
