Senior Poster Information - An RHS Irish Tradition!
Senior posters line the halls of RHS for a viewing before graduation. Two ways to to get your senior poster:
- Cornerstone Copy provides an easy way to upload photos within an RHS-themed template. Due date for placing Cornerstone Copy poster order: May 23, 2024 at 3 pm. Download the directions for submitting your senior poster here: https://2024rhsseniors.weebly.com/senior-stuff.html

School Meal Information
In March 2023, the Minnesota Free School Meals bill was signed into law. This provides all students in District 196 one breakfast and one lunch each school day at no charge.
 
A la carte items including snacks, beverages, and second entrees, are available to purchase in our schools. Students who wish to purchase a la carte items must have a positive balance in their Nutrition Services account.

CAREER CENTER - COLLEGE AND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Aviation Residential Summer Camp Opportunity. MN ACE Camp allows exploration of many aviation careers through hands on experiences. 6/16-6/21 or 6/23-6/28. More information at: www.mnacecamp.org.

The RHS Soccer Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Must have played or managed jr and sr years. $500. Due 3/13/24

The Steve Olsen/Rosemount Community Band Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $500. Must be pursing a major in instrumental music or closely related field. Due 3/13/24.

The Shannon Park Elementary Legacy Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Must have attended Shannon Park Elementary. Min. 3.0 GPA. One-$1000 award. Due 3/13/24.

The RHS Boys Lacrosse Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Must have played junior and senior years at any level. $400. Due 3/13/24

The RHS Boys Soccer Scholarship application is available on Naviance. Must have played junior and senior years at any level. $500. Due 3/13/24.

The Dakota County Farm Bureau Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $750. Major in Agriculture-related program. Due 3/15/24.

Scholarship application for JUNIORS: The Horatio Alger Scholarship application is open for Junior Students. Several available so check eligibility requirements. Information and application on Naviance or at: https://horatioalger.org/ Due 3/15/24.

The "Catch a Break" Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Up to $11,000. More info on Naviance or at: http://www.catchabreaksholar.org. Due 3/15/24.

The Horatio Alger Association has several targeted scholarships available to seniors, including some "college specific" awards for colleges in the 5 state area. The 2024 CapStrong Scholarship application is now available with link on Naviance. 3-$1000 awards to students who embody excellence in academics, arts and athletics while embracing school spirit and compassion for others, honoring the legacy of Cap George. Minimum 3.3 GPA. Due 3/18/24.

The RHS Senior Scholarship for the Class of 2024 application is now available on Naviance. One application for many local scholarships. Due 3/19/24

The Joan Yambing Wildflower Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 2-$1000 awards to students in memory and honor of Joan Yambing.

Warrior 196 Leadership Foundation Scholarship apps now available. Warrior 196 Leadership Foundation is proud to award $2000 scholarships to two graduating seniors ​from each high school in ​School District 196 in honor of former students killed while in active military duty. One will be awarded to an AVID student and the other will be open to all. Applications due 3/22/24. Info on Naviance. The 2024 Cindy Briscoe Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000. For those who show grit/courage/compassion. 3.0 GPA Due 3/25/24

The TEAM Kaleigh Memorial Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 3- $1,000 scholarships to Rosemount High School graduating seniors who display academic excellence, strong citizenship and character, and a desire to make a meaningful contribution to society. Due 3/29/24.

The Kara Mensink "Share Your Joy" Memorial Scholarship application is available on Naviance. $1000. RHS student who embodies optimism, curiosity and determination in their life. Due 3/31/24.

The District 8 Hockey Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000. One male and one female winner. Must have been active D8 participant for at least 2 seasons. Due 3/31/24

The MN Golf Foundation Women's Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $3000. 3.2 Minimum GPA. Must show Interest/involvement in Golf. Due 3/31/24

Dakota County EMS Advisory Council is offering 2- $500 scholarships. The council will award two $500 scholarships to Dakota County High school seniors that intent to pursue post high school EMS or other healthcare related education. More info and app on Naviance. Due 3/31/24.

The Lockhead-Martin STEM Scholarship application is now available. Up to $10,000 renewable for eligible STEM majors. More information and application link on Naviance. Due 4/1/24

Scott Highlands Middle School Scholarship applications (3) now available on Naviance or the SHMS website. $500 Alumni Scholarship. $1000 Education Scholarship. $500 Science Scholarship. May apply for more than one if eligible. Due 4/1/24.

The River Valley Food and Nutrition Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Must be pursuing a degree in food and nutrition field of study; food service, food science, culinary arts, dietetics, hotel/restaurant mgt, or related field. $550. Due 4/1/23.

The Woodland Elementary Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $500. Due 4/2/24

The Teddy Taft Memorial Scholarship Application is now available on Naviance. Print copies are also available in the College/Career Center. 1-$500 award to a senior who receives or has received special education services or has/had and Individual Educational Plan. Due 4/4/24

The College Scholarship for a Future Educator Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. The "Support our Teachers" nonprofit is offering a $400 award to any senior pursing degree in education. More info and application on Naviance or in the College/Career Center. Due 4/5/24.

The Gary Anger Scholarship (Red Pine Elementary) application is now available on Naviance. $700. Must have attended Red Pine for at least 1 year. Due 4/5/24.

The RAHA Hockey Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000. One boys varsity and one girls varsity award. Two additional awards to seniors who played in RAHA for at least 4 seasons. Due 4/7/24.

The SPS Trades Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 2-$500 awards. Must attend DCTD in Fall 2024 and be accepted into a trade program (i.e. Auto, Metals, Electrician, Plumbing, etc.). Due 4/12/24.

The Norm Schirmer Lebanon Lodge #346 trades program scholarship application is now available on Naviance. For students pursuing training in the trades (automotive, building, welding, electrician, plumber etc). $1000 award. Due 4/12/24.

The Dakota County United Educators (DCUE) Future Educator Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $500. For Students who are interested in becoming educators. Due 4/12/24.

The Salvation Army Linden Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Minimum 2.0 GPA. Volunteer service, financial need, and enrollment in 2 year or 4 year college or vocational school. $1500-$3000 awards. Due 4/19/24

The LCpl Dale W. Means Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 5-$1000 awards. See application for specific requirements. Due 5/1/24.

The Westview Elementary PTO Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000. Must have attended WV at least 2 years. Due 5/3/24.

Jim's TEAM 4 Diabetes Scholarship application is now available. $500. Senior with Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. More information and application on Naviance. Due 5/17/24.

A list of COLLEGE VISITS can be found on Naviance Student.  To view the list and to REGISTER to attend a visit…log in to Naviance Student.  Go to Colleges>Research Colleges>College Visits.  Click on “Register Now” in order to attend.  You may then stop by the College/Career Center to obtain a pass to attend.  Space will be limited so registration is required.

Athletics
There will be an informational meeting for all girls interested in playing golf this spring at RHS in the Student Center Addition on Tuesday, March 12 at 2:40 PM. All ability levels are welcome!! See Mr Wallin if you have any questions.

PROM DRESS Drive/Exchange
Date:  March 16
Time: 10am-3:00pm
Where:  South Commons near the Main Entrance
If you have any prom dresses you no longer need or you are looking for a dress for this year’s prom, come to Environmental Science Club’s Prom Dress Drive/Exchange on Saturday, March 16th! From 10:00am to 3:00pm, you can donate, trade, or even buy prom dresses in the South Commons at the high school. Please enter the school through the main entrance.



The Annual US Congressional Art Competition is NOW OPEN for entries. All students are welcome to submit. Drop off your artwork in the art rooms by April 12th. Check the QR for details.

RHS Woodworking Club is beginning on Tuesday February 13th with an informational meeting and discussion about the club, then we will meet every Tuesday at 2:35pm in room 105 - Wood Shop


The Rosemount Speech Team competed at the Shakopee HS 'Wild Thing" speech tournament on March 2nd. Here were the results:
Makenah Zappia: 2nd place in Informative and 5th in Consolation Oratory
Keertana Addagudi: 1st in Next-in Informative and 7th in Merit Oratory
Maddy Staley: 5th in Next-in Drama
Nitya Sannuli: 7th in Next-in Drama
Joy and Nitya: 1st in Merit Duo
Kaia Labelle: 6th in Merit Extemp Reading
Shade Knapp: 7th in Merit Prose
Sanjana Addagudi: 7th in Consolation Discussion
Maddy Staley earned her second nationals bid in drama which means that she is now officially qualified for the NIETOC national tournament (AND SHE'S A NOVICE)! Nitya Sannuli earned her first bid in Drama so she only needs one more in that category. Nitya and Joy earned a 3rd bid in duo. Makenah earned her 4th bid in Oratory and her 5th bid in Informative. Keertana earned her 3rd bid in Oratory and her 8th bid in Informative and still hasn't gone a single week without earning one in that category. The team has earned 31 nationals bids so far this season with 3 tournaments left to go. Last year the team earned 21 bids over the whole season!

Rugby practice begins SATURDAY for our Girls & Boys high school teams, 4-6PM @ the Lakeville North Dome. The first hour is our TRY RUGBY event, geared toward new players who want to see what rugby is about before registering. Scan the QR code for more information.
