Summer Boost Program

Summer BOOST is a program designed to help currently enrolled students at WVU increase their cumulative GPA and earn course credit during the summer term. This program will provide students with resources that will help in academic success.

Students must meet ONE of the following eligibility requirements to be admitted to the program:

  • Overall GPA below 2.5

  • Repeating a course with previous D/F grade (no W), or

  • Failing to meet eligibility for need or merit-based aid
Students who are interested in the Summer BOOST program should contact their academic adviser.

Opportunities
Summer Opportunity with AmeriCorps - Literacy Program for Children

Energy Express needs educators looking for summer employment to serve as site supervisors, college students interested in serving through  AmeriCorps as community coordinators or mentors, and volunteers willing to read to children or perform other tasks.
  • This program is an 8-week summer reading program which provides a meaningful summer experience for college students who serve as AmeriCorps members, students are eligible to receive a $1,459.26 educational award, a $3,726 living allowance, and 300 service hours for eight weeks from June 5 - July 28, 2024.

NSF S-STEM ACCESS Scholarship

This application is for students seeking a cybersecurity specific scholarship. Scholarships are $5,000 annual awards.
The application requires an essay focused on student's interest and knowledge of cybersecurity and email addresses of two recommenders who have agreed to submit a letter of support for your application. Please make sure you have these available before you start the application process.  ​

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)

The Office of Undergraduate Research is now accepting applications for students and faculty mentors who would like to participate in the Summer Undergraduate Research ExperienceSURE is a mentored research experience for undergraduate students interested in graduate school, research or creative work within their discipline. Student participants receive a $5,000 stipend for eight weeks of full-time research from May 28 to July 26, 2024.
