Trento Italian and European Capital of Volunteering

On Saturday, February 3rd, the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, attended the inauguration of Trento Italian and European Capital of Volunteering.

The association behind the GreenMarked environmental platform, ECONTROVERTIA APS, is run by members, volunteers, freelancers and collaborators, and kept up by many, many volunteer hours. The administrative and bureaucratic management activities and regular planning meetings, the planting and social agroecology activities in Bolivia, and the dozens of extra hours organizing Detox camps show how willing we are to sacrifice some of our free time for others, to continue building what we love, for a greater purpose.

We are proud to be Third Sector associations, contribute to the world of Volunteering, and be part of this wonderful and strong network of associations, nonprofits, cooperatives and foundations that characterizes the Province of Trento and has made it the European Volunteer Capital.

Mattarella's presence spurs us to continue to create value with our initiatives, invest in volunteerism, and weave new exchanges with institutions and businesses to improve, strengthen and beautify our communities.

“Hydro Comics & Podcast in Piana Rotaliana” Project

Join us on Friday, March 8!

The "Hydro Podcast & Comics in Piana Rotaliana" project aims to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable water resource management through environmental storytelling by 60 teenagers from Piana Rotaliana.

Thanks to the involvement of associations and educational institutions, environmental agencies of the Autonomous Province of Trento and credit institutions, freelancers, a university and a research center in the region, the teens told the story of a community's relationship over time with its territory and its water resources. Integrating real events with new elements and fictional characters, this project brings into the spotlight, in the form of a podcast and a comic book, three important water-environmental events in Piana Rotaliana: the flooding of the Adige River in 1965, the establishment and enlargement of the Rupe and Rocchetta Biotopes, from 1993 to 2024, and the possible scenario of a snowless Trentino and an increasingly dry Piana Rotaliana in 2030.

Don't miss the big launch event for the "Hydro Comics & Podcast in Piana Rotaliana" environmental comic book and podcast, this Friday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the auditorium of the M. Martini Institute in Mezzolombardo (TN). An "ecorinfresco" will follow. See you Friday at the show!
