Volunteers NEEDED - Cub Bagging events for Senior Party
We are in need of parent chaperones for our Cub bagging events on Saturday, April 6 OR Saturday, April 13. Please sign-up for a 2-hour shift if you can help out! There are also a few student spots left to fill too. Shifts for students can go towards NHS hours.

Senior Poster Information - An RHS Irish Tradition!
Senior posters line the halls of RHS for a viewing before graduation. Two ways to to get your senior poster:
- Cornerstone Copy provides an easy way to upload photos within an RHS-themed template. Due date for placing Cornerstone Copy poster order: May 23, 2024 at 3 pm. Download the directions for submitting your senior poster here: https://2024rhsseniors.weebly.com/senior-stuff.html 
- Make your own! Feel free to create your own using pictures on poster board. Due date for dropping-off your own: May 28, 2024 at 7 pm

Seniors: If you are enlisted in any branch of the military to serve our Country upon graduation, please contact Ms. Heieie in the College/Career Center. This also includes ROTC or military academy. Stop by or email her at: lynn.heieie@district196.org.

School Meal Information
In March 2023, the Minnesota Free School Meals bill was signed into law. This provides all students in District 196 one breakfast and one lunch each school day at no charge.
 
A la carte items including snacks, beverages, and second entrees, are available to purchase in our schools. Students who wish to purchase a la carte items must have a positive balance in their Nutrition Services account.

The Lockhead-Martin STEM Scholarship application is now available. Up to $10,000 renewable for eligible STEM majors. More information and application link on Naviance. Due 4/1/24

Scott Highlands Middle School Scholarship applications (3) now available on Naviance or the SHMS website. $500 Alumni Scholarship. $1000 Education Scholarship. $500 Science Scholarship. May apply for more than one if eligible. Due 4/1/24.

The River Valley Food and Nutrition Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Must be pursuing a degree in food and nutrition field of study; food service, food science, culinary arts, dietetics, hotel/restaurant mgt, or related field. $550. Due 4/1/23.

The Woodland Elementary Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $500. Due 4/2/24

The SIM STEM Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000-$2000. Seniors who plan to continue education in IT. Due 4/3/24.

The Diamond Path Elementary Scholarship application is now available on Naviance or in the College/Career Center. Two $800 awards. Due 4/4/24.

The Echo Park Elementary PTO Scholarship is now available on Naviance. $1000. Due 4/4/24.

The Teddy Taft Memorial Scholarship Application is now available on Naviance. Print copies are also available in the College/Career Center. 1-$500 award to a senior who receives or has received special education services or has/had and Individual Educational Plan. Due 4/4/24

The College Scholarship for a Future Educator Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. The "Support our Teachers" nonprofit is offering a $400 award to any senior pursing degree in education. More info and application on Naviance or in the College/Career Center. Due 4/5/24.

The Gary Anger Scholarship (Red Pine Elementary) application is now available on Naviance. $700. Must have attended Red Pine for at least 1 year. Due 4/5/24.

The RAHA Hockey Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000. One boys varsity and one girls varsity award. Two additional awards to seniors who played in RAHA for at least 4 seasons. Due 4/7/24.

The SPS Trades Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 2-$500 awards. Must attend DCTD in Fall 2024 and be accepted into a trade program (i.e. Auto, Metals, Electrician, Plumbing, etc.). Due 4/12/24.

The Norm Schirmer Lebanon Lodge #346 trades program scholarship application is now available on Naviance. For students pursuing training in the trades (automotive, building, welding, electrician, plumber etc). $1000 award. Due 4/12/24.

The Dakota County United Educators (DCUE) Future Educator Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $500. For Students who are interested in becoming educators. Due 4/12/24.

The Salvation Army Linden Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Minimum 2.0 GPA. Volunteer service, financial need, and enrollment in 2 year or 4 year college or vocational school. $1500-$3000 awards. Due 4/19/24

The Southview Elementary PTO Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. Must have attended SVES for 2 years. $1000. Due 4/22/24.

The LCpl Dale W. Means Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 5-$1000 awards. See application for specific requirements. Due 5/1/24.

The Westview Elementary PTO Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $1000. Must have attended WV at least 2 years. Due 5/3/24.

The Apple Valley American Legion Auxiliary Post 1776 Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. 3-$1000 awards to children or grandchildren of legion members (unit, post or sons of the American Legion). Due 5/15/24

Jim's TEAM 4 Diabetes Scholarship application is now available. $500. Senior with Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. More information and application on Naviance. Due 5/17/24.

The MN Chapter of Women in Public Finance Scholarship application is now available on Naviance. $5000/varies. Due 6/1/24

A list of COLLEGE VISITS can be found on Naviance Student.  To view the list and to REGISTER to attend a visit…log in to Naviance Student.  Go to Colleges>Research Colleges>College Visits.  Click on “Register Now” in order to attend.  You may then stop by the College/Career Center to obtain a pass to attend.  Space will be limited so registration is required.

The Rosemount Speech team competed at the Cotter Speech Tournament on March 23rd and were the 1st place overall sweepstakes winners! Here were the results:
Evelyn Adochio: ✨Tournament Champion✨ in POI, 2nd place in Poetry and 6th in Humor
Keertana Addagudi: ✨Tournament Champion✨ in Oratory and 3rd place in Informative
Makenah Zappia: ✨Tournament Champion✨ in Informative and 4th place in Oratory
Shade Knapp: 2nd in Prose and 4th in Creative Expression
Adonias Ketema: 2nd in Informative
Sanjana Addagudi: 2nd in Discussion
Solanite Ketema: 4th in Humor
Hannah Decker: 5th in Oratory
Alanna Voelker: 4th in Next-in Humor
Kaia Labelle: 5th in Next-in Prose
RHS also adds THREE MORE NATIONAL QUALIFIERS from this tournament!! Evelyn, Adonias, and Shade all earned their second NIETOC bids which means they are all now officially qualified for NIETOC nationals! Makenah earned her 7th consecutive NIETOC bid in Informative. Keertana earned her 4th bid in Oratory and her 10th consecutive bid in Informative. Keertana did not attend a single invitational tournament this year WITHOUT earning a NIETOC nationals bid in Informative! The team earned 43 bids this season as a whole, more than doubling the 21 they earned last season.



On Tuesday March 19th the RHS speech team competed at the Minnesota state qualifying tournament. Last year the team walked away from this tournament with one qualification to state. This year we had SIX!!! We also earned 3rd in overall team sweepstakes. Way to go Rosemount Speech!! Here were the results:
