Can one really build a concert quality instrument following my online courses at the Lutherie Academy? One of my students attended the Artisan Guitar Show, AS AN Exhibitor!  Here is what he had to say.

Hi Robbie,
I was an exhibitor (as CopperTree Guitars) at a recent Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg PA. The show attendance was excellent and I had many people come to my booth to both talk guitars and play my guitars. 

I received several people’s comment that my guitars were at the top of their list of the nicest sounding and easiest to play guitars at the show. I received many comments on the excellent tone and playability of my guitars.

While I am very happy to receive these very nice comments I need to provide you with the credit for teaching me how to construct and most particularly voice the back and sides of the guitars I build. I may be the one working the plane and chisel, but I am only working the process, techniques, and approaches to making guitars that you have taught me. Your method of constructions provides a well constructed guitar that provides excellent tone.

I have written to you about my appreciation of all the help you have been to me, but I need to say it again. Thank you for your outstanding teaching and helping me be the building I am still becoming.

I am enclosing a picture and a couple of videos. The picture is of my booth at the Artisan Guitar Show. The first video is John Sebastian (60’s group Loving Spoonful) playing one of my OMs, and the second guitar is a local PA/NYC guitar player Maria Wilson playing my OM (she really gives the guitar a workout, she is using an alternate tuning). Dick Boak (formally of Martin) also came by to play my guitars.
