Lynn and Carol Glass Honors Scholarship (NEW):

The Lynn and Carol Glass Honors Scholarships, created as a memorial to Carol Glass, is a one-time $1,000 award open to upper-division Honors students with financial need who are progressing towards completing their Honors degree. Consideration will be given to students involved extensively on campus and with the Honors Program. Applications for this award can be found in the ISU One App System.

W. Robert Parks Honors Commendations:

Each year the W. Robert Parks Honors Commendations are awarded to a faculty member, a friend, and a student associated with the University Honors Program. Honors students nominate individuals in each of the three categories who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the Honors Program. The Honors Student Board (HSB) then selects the recipients. The recipients of the awards will receive a plaque and also have their names recorded on the plaque located in the west hallway of the Jischke Honors Building. Please use this link to nominate your candidate by no later than Sunday, April 7, 2024.

Outstanding UHP Member Scholarship:

Have you had a positive experience in the Honors Program? Each year, the Honors Program Scholarship is awarded to an Honors member who best articulates how the Honors Program has furthered or improved their education academically or through co-curricular engagement.

The monetary award for this scholarship is $500 dollars. All current members of the University Honors Program are eligible to apply. Applicant must be enrolled at ISU for at least one more semester as the funds will be applied to next semester’s tuition and/or fees. Special circumstances, such as study-abroad and internships, may allow otherwise.

The completed application must be turned in by Sunday, April 7, 2024. Please fill out the application here. The winner will be selected by the Scholarship Sub-Committee of the University Honors Committee. Decisions will be based on quality and content of two essays, contacts with personal references, and a list of activities and leadership positions. Below are the requirements you will need to upload for the application:

1. A maximum 500-word essay describing: “How the Honors Program has furthered or improved my education at Iowa State University, academically or co-curricularly.”
2. A maximum 500-word essay describing: “How my leadership has benefited an organization of which I am a member.”
3. A list of your ISU activities and work experience and leadership positions in those activities (include years/semesters involved and time commitment). You may include a resume in place of a listing.
4. A list of names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of three people whom you have asked to serve as references.  At least one must be an Iowa State University faculty member who can speak to your Honors experience.
