Sun. Apr 7 - Pub Session - 2pm to 5pm Tartan day jam session at the Barley Mow, 1541 Merivale Rd. Celebrate Tartan Day (April 6) with some down home Scottish, Irish and Cape Breton music.  Fiddlers, pipers, guitarists, piano players, even banjos and accordions are all invited! Whether you only one or two tunes, or all of them you are welcome to join in. Fun for Fiddlers - Even More Website Resources

We've added even more resources for learning tunes to the website! There is a new page with play-along practice tracks at very slow speeds for those just starting to learn a tune. These tracks, along with an app or software for playing the tracks at various speeds can help both with learning the notes and adjusting intonation. There are various combinations of tunes from the CB Session repertoire available. Work on this page is ongoing, more links will be added over the next while.

OTHER EVENTS

Sessions, sessions, sessions - there are lots of Celtic sessions going on in the National Capital Area that include a nice mix of Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and French Canadian tunes. Check out our Google calendar below  for dates and locations.

Let us know about other Cape Breton music events so we can include them in our calendar of events! Send an email to cbsession@cbsession.com with details or a link to a website advertising the event. Events must be local to eastern Ontario and involve Cape Breton artists or Cape Breton music and/or dance in some capacity.

Open Jam Sessions: 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at locations as specified on the website. Sessions are led by Aylene, or sometimes other folks. This session is a mix of session and solo playing, let us know if you have something special to share with the group. Sheet music permitted. Generally a pretty fast pace.
