The JP Innovation Project (JPIP) has joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley to help provide our members with guidance, support, and funding for our Clubhouse Network site, located in our Alamosa Clubhouse at 1115 Tenth Street in Alamosa. This on-site location, also known as the Tech Room,
provides our membership with access to a variety of resources including; a multi-station computer lab, 3D modeling & printing, graphic design, video production, in addition to musical instruments and a sound studio.
We offer workshops and a learning model where youth have free rein over what they want to learn and create. Under the Clubhouse Learning Model members learn: Robotics, Coding, Game Design, Web Design, Photoshop, Digital Art, Animation, Graphic Design, Pixel Art, Logo Creation, Video Production, Stop Motion, Music Production, Music Theory, 3D Modeling, 3D Printing, Vinyl Cutting, Heat Press, and Embroidery. The list of learning topics is ever-expanding and driven by the imagination and goals of our members.
Music lives and breathes in the Clubhouse and Wednesdays are dedicated to learning and making music. Members may be found experimenting with electronic keyboards, following a sing along, working on ukulele lessons, or recording in our on-site sound studio. We are always exploring music in our after school programs and encouraging members to find their inner muse.
Because of partnerships with organizations like the JP Innovation Project, our members have learned to record their own music and videos. They have developed the skills to create their own clothing designs and merchandise using different methods such as heat-press or laser engraving, and they learn how to collaborate as a team as they design and create amazing works of art and innovation.
This Summer, teen members will travel to attend the Southwest Regional Teen Summit in Denver, late July. This event will be hosted by The Gold Crown Clubhouse and Teen Tech Center, which has an immaculate space and welcoming environment. This year's summit will be focused on career pathways in Virtual Reality (VR). Thanks to JP Innovation Project for helping to make dreams possible!
