If there is one constant to life, it is change! Spring is almost here! As much as we look forward in our personal lives to the seasons changing, so also, in an organization and its members professional careers do we look forward to a "season of change".
Project WILL is definitely in a season of change. As most of you know both our Executive Director, Kelly Majors, and our Program Manager, Desiree Watts, have recently made a change to accept new external positions. We wish them both well in the next season of their careers.
As a grassroots nonprofit, it can be challenging to remain true to the mission and vision while also being a competitive employer in the marketplace. Project WILL's Board of Directors are committed to continuing to provide quality programming and finding other leaders that are equipped to move us into the next season of this organization. Before onboarding additional talent, we are working to identify improvements that will help us to recruit, vet, select and retain top talent. This includes looking at benefits and compensation, job responsibilities, work schedules and hiring practices just to name a few. We want to continue creating and fostering a workplace environment that is not only diverse, equitable, and inclusive but enjoyable as well.
We want to thank everyone - case managers, behavior consultants, parents, guardians, service providers and of course the Members themselves - for your continued confidence in our ability to assist your adults with cognitive and intellectual disabilities and other behavioral health challenges to grow against all odds.
In the next week, we will be making some additional changes and bringing on a couple of people to assist during the interim. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Dionne Banks, Board President
