The Ontario Automotive Modernization Program (O-AMP) intake period now open

O-AMP is an Ontario government funded program that supports Ontario automotive parts manufacturers as they invest in new hardware/software technologies and lean methodology to improve their operational efficiency and competitiveness. Businesses could get up to $150,000 to help cover up to 50% of eligible project costs. Deadline: May 2, 2024.

Ontario ICT Mission to Collision 2024

The Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT) invites Ontario companies in artificial intelligence/machine learning, fintech, cybersecurity, sensor-based technology, digital health, enterprise-tech, eCommerce and retail, edutech, logistic/supply-chain tech, industrial IoT and other ICT sub-sectors to join an ICT export business mission to Collision 2024.

Cyber Integration for Businesses programming available

Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Toronto Metropolitan University’s national centre for training, innovation and collaboration in cybersecurity, is offering a new program designed to address the unique cybersecurity needs of organizations and seeks to advance the competitiveness of the participating companies by strengthening their cybersecurity posture. Through funding from the Government of Ontario, the program is free to participants.

WILWorks Skilled Trades in Advanced Manufacturing

Funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy, manufacturers can receive a wage subsidy up to $5000 per participant, while developing the skills of your workforce and helping to reduce the gap in skilled trades. The program offers current employees and new hires access to industry-driven, technical e-learning and hands-on training tailored to your manufacturing facility's equipment and processes.

Research, Innovation, Scholarship and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Day: APMA Event
Wednesday, April 3, 2024

Co-op Student Summer recruitment
Lakehead students in programs including Economics, Environmental Sustainability, Computer Science, Kinesiology, and Engineering are seeking summer co-op positions! If you would like to welcome a student employee from either the Orillia or Thunder Bay campus for a work term, please contact careers.coop@lakeheadu.ca. Positions can be posted now, with interviews occurring before the end of April, and most work terms beginning as early as May.
