MARCH NEWSLETTER
Celebrating Women's History Month:
Robin Hickman, SoulTouch Productions

Given that March is Women's History Month, we want to take a moment to reflect and celebrate the women of Rondo CLT. We are proud to say that women make up the majority of our staff, board, and leaseholder community. For our March Newsletter, we had the opportunity to speak with and learn from Robin Hickman, the Executive Producer and CEO of SoulTouch Productions. A Rondo CLT commercial tenant, Robin is also a "storyteller and artist. An entrepreneur and educator. A wife and woman of faith. Robin Hickman-Winfield is a local leader with many interests and accomplishments. But, at the core of everything she does, Robin is a proud and principled continuation of her family lineage—one with deep roots in Rondo and branches of influence across the globe."

Rondo CLT Staffing Updates
Welcome Angela Lindquist!

We are so excited to welcome Angela Lindquist to Rondo CLT's team as our newest Housing Specialist. Angela is a mortgage professional who has over two decades of experience guiding families through the journey of homeownership. She is deeply passionate about serving her clients and her story extends far beyond the realm of mortgages.

Traveling has always been her greatest source of inspiration and learning. From exploring bustling cities to wandering through serene landscapes, each adventure has left an indelible mark on her soul, shaping her perspective and fueling her curiosity about the world we live in.
In addition to traveling, her heart finds its truest happiness in the warmth of family. Angela's two daughters, son-in-law and four grandchildren fill her days with laughter and love, reminding her of the profound joy found in simple moments shared together.

Joining Rondo CLT, Angela is filled with gratitude for the opportunity to intertwine her passions with her profession, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive impact in the lives of those around her.
Rondo CLT in Community
The Detroit Neighborhood Forum

On March 14th, ED Mikeya and Deputy Director Coco presented at Detroit's Neighborhood Forum. Each month, 50 local and national foundations, key government leaders, banks, and intermediary organizations come together at the forum to focus on the state of Detroit neighborhoods and the inclusive recovery of the city overall.

Detroit underwent an experience similar to what residents in the Rondo neighorbood went through in the 1950's and 60's when the construction of I-94 destroyed and displaced upwards of 300 businesses and 700 homes. In 1964 during urban renewal, I-375 wiped out a thriving Black community in Detroit. In 2025, Michigan's Department of Transportation is launching the I-375 Reconnecting Communities Project, which will convert the depressed I-375 freeway in Detroit to a street-level boulevard. As this article by Hour Detroit reveals, there are many residents who feel their voices are not adequately being centered, or heard, in this project.

Given Rondo's similar history and Rondo CLT's reparative work, Mikeya and Coco, alongside Anika Goss from Detroit Future City and Marcia Black from Black Bottom Archives, provided a community-focused perspective on the project to funders and members of the Detroit Neighborhood Forum.

Please Consider Supporting our Work

Rondo CLT builds community wealth and neighborhood stability through the development and stewardship of perpetually affordable homeownership opportunities, rental housing, commercial space, and other community assets.

Each new property that enters the community land trust starts a cycle of affordability for generations of low to moderate income earning families and local small business owners. Your donation makes all of this possible. Thank you.
