AAFA Asks Congress to Support People with Asthma and Allergies

Board members from AAFA went to Capitol Hill to advocate for the 100 million Americans with food allergies and asthma. They met with 28 offices to educate lawmakers on programs and legislation that improve research, prevention, treatment, and access to care:
  • Dillon’s Law (expanded access to epinephrine)
  • Duckworth-Fischer Emergency Medical Kits Amendment for FAA Reauthorization
  • National Asthma Control Program Funding
  • Elijah E. Cummings Family Asthma Act
  • Healthy at Home Act

Big News: Congress Votes to Fund WIC!

Thank you to Congress for voting to increase funding for WIC! WIC helps low-income parents, infants, and children up to age 5 have access to nutritious foods. It can also provide some support for families managing a child’s food allergy. Safe foods and special formulas can be costly. WIC may help reduce some of that burden. Read more about the news.

Is Eosinophilic Gastritis with or without Eosinophilic Duodenitis Affecting Your Daily Life?

You may be eligible for the Engage clinical study, which aims to investigate a study drug for EoG with or without EoD.

You may be eligible if you:
  • Are ≥ 12 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with EoG by endoscopic biopsy
  • Have had at least 2 EoG episodes every week in the 8 weeks prior to joining the study (stomach pain, stomach cramping, nausea, bloating, early satiety, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea)
